Between dramatic lighting, mind-blowing installations, and artwork spanning several centuries, we love the variety that the Blanton Museum of Art offers Lucy and John’s engagement session. Lucy’s botanical print dress and black leggings are a fun contrast against the Blanton’s theatrical backdrops, and colored smoke bombs on the museum’s roof add a special element of surprise! Geoff Duncan Photography brilliantly captured this couple’s quirky Austin coolness.
While planning their wedding, Sarah and Jake knew they wanted to incorporate their family’s Jewish traditions in a stunning event space that channels Durham’s post-tobacco renaissance history, gives off glamorous vibes, and, of course, offers plenty of room to dance! Tobacco factory-turned-venue The Cotton Room ended up being the perfect warehouse venue for Sarah and Jake’s traditional Jewish ceremony and stylish reception, and we love how the couple added their own touch to the warehouse by adding enchanting gold sequin details and personal vignettes. Vesic Photography captured the sweetly sincere moments between the newlyweds.
We wanted our wedding to reflect the uniqueness of our personalities, our love, and our hometown. It was important that we incorporate Jewish tradition, our favorite aspects of other weddings, and our own ideas of how we imagined our dream wedding.
Working with Vesic Photography was so easy, and surprisingly meaningful. Our photographer, Hooman Bahrani, made our First Look more meaningful than we ever imagined. I expected any wedding photographer would demand our attention throughout the night. Quite the opposite, Hooman was unobtrusive and still captured the most tender – and fun – moments.
An hour before the ceremony, we gathered with our closest friends and family for a Jewish veiling ritual where our family members toasted us, our parents gave us blessings, and we signed the ketubah (Jewish marriage contract). It was the most heartfelt aspect of the day.
Some decent computer skills allowed us to DIY our website and RSVP form (thank you, Squarespace), the flyer for our welcome bags, our guestbook (from Shutterfly) and a slideshow and iMovie proposal video at the welcome dinner!
If you are particularly impressed with one of your vendors, ask that vendor for recommendations for other vendors you need. We hired a florist, make-up artist, and DJ based on our photographer’s recommendation and we were very pleased with the results.
Congratulations to Sarah and Jake on your gorgeous wedding, and a big thanks to Vesic Photography for capturing these beautiful moments! For more warehouse wedding inspiration, take a look at this Austin Warehouse Wedding at Brazos Hall!
Sweeping Cali hills and moody skies set the scene for Tara and Cliff’s super sultry Point Reyes engagement session! Bright red pops of color are one of our favorite current e-sesh trends, and this couple flawlessly pulls it off with Tara’s strappy red heels and Cliff’s crimson shoelaces. Tara’s two styles include a sexy lace frock with a low cut neck and a sweet floral mini, which look amazing paired with Cliff’s sophisticated-yet-rugged dress attire. We love how Greg Petersen captured this newly-engaged couple’s amazing energy through the NoCal hills.
Congratulations to Tara and Cliff on your engagement, and a big thanks to Greg Petersen for shooting these amazing images! For more sultry and stylish engagement inspiration, take a look at these Steamy Island Engagement Photos in Makena, HI!
