Delicate Details and a BHLDN Gown Stole Our Hearts in this Bloomsbury Farm Wedding

July 30, 2016 | Junebug Weddings

This Nashville wedding is full of sweet details and romantic surprises! When Paige and Nathan were choosing their venue, they found that Bloomsbury Farm had their ideal blend of naturally rustic farm accents and clean, sophisticated Restoration Hardware-inspired vibes. Paige’s gorgeous BHLDN gown featured an illusion lace necklace and a glamorous full tulle skirt, completing her delicate princess bridal look! Between rides in a horse-drawn carriage and a perfect barbecue reception dinner, we love how Erin McCall Photography captured Paige and Nathan’s day with a refined Southern elegance in mind.

The Couple:

Paige and Nathan

The Wedding:

Bloomsbury Farm, Nashville, Tennessee

Bloomsbury Farm was the first venue we ever toured, and even though we kept touring after, this one was the only one we could ever picture ourselves getting married at. It is the perfect combination of Nathan and I. It is beautifully green and natural while also embodying Restoration Hardware in a farm setting. The bridal suite and pavilion are absolutely amazing. Lauren of Bloomsbury Farm has worked to curate the perfect setting and aesthetic. It is absolutely the most peaceful place I have ever been.

I chose my gown from BHLDN in Chicago. I worked for Anthropologie for almost three years and continued to write as a style blogger on side in college. I knew I wanted my dress to be romantic and airy, much like the venue. So it is easy to say that the venue’s rolling hills, dewy light, and subtle cremes inspired the dress. My antique accessories were all in honor of my grandparents as well as Nathan. The diamond tennis bracelet I wore was my grandmother’s. The brass cuff on my left hand was an antique that Nathan bought for me in our second year of dating. And my wedding band is one of my favorite gifts. It is a gift that was left in my great Aunt Do’s will. Her story is unique that her husband passed away in wartime, but she never remarried because she loved him so dearly.

My bridesmaids wore the Jenny Yoo Annabelle dress from BHLDN in Sandstone to match the tulle of my gown, and our boys rented their slate blue tuxes from Street Tuxedo here in Nashville.

As Nathan and I planned our wedding, we wanted to honor and celebrate the people who had joined us along the way. We have been dating since our junior year of high school, so of course, as years collect, you collect amazing people. We wanted this day to just as much about them as it was about us. Our families, community, and church family had surrounded our relationship and upcoming marriage in prayer and celebration, and we wanted to have a night where they felt noticed, loved, and treasured by Nathan and I as well as our families and day of vendors.

delicate-details-and-a-bhldn-gown-stole-our-hearts-in-this-bloomsbury-farm-wedding-20

Very last minute, we had to switch to a rain plan, and the attitude and talent of our vendors made it better than I could have ever even pictured. I think our rain plan was even better than the original! I can’t imagine it going any other way.

Nate and I both loved the ceremony and time we got to spend in prayer during communion. Our church takes communion every week, and it has become a really special time for Nathan and I to just talk about where we are and where the Lord is taking us.

delicate-details-and-a-bhldn-gown-stole-our-hearts-in-this-bloomsbury-farm-wedding-27

Also, it helped too that we got to ride out from our ceremony in a horse drawn carriage. Nathan grew up going to a ranch in Colorado, and I have always loved the princess in a carriage. So it was a dream come true!

Nate and I agree that after all of the planning and preparing… probably only 50% of the things you picture turn out the way you picture it in your head. And this is a good thing! If I could offer any advice, it is to choose vendors that have the same vision for the WHY of marriage. Our vendors felt more like family that day than anything else.

A California Countryside Wedding at Pomar Junction Vineyard & Winery

July 29, 2016 | Junebug Weddings

a-california-countryside-wedding-at-pomar-junction-vineyard-winery-32

Sarah and Jonny’s California vineyard wedding is the ultimate in rustic sophistication! The couple currently lives in Hollywood, so they honored their country roots by hosting their wedding among the sprawling hills and giant oak trees of Pomar Junction Vineyard & Winery. Between an Airstream photobooth, tons of greenery and succulents, and a romantic lace Daughters of Simone bridal gown, every detail of Sarah and Jonny’s wedding is full of chic rustic elegance! We love how Love Tribe Weddings captured every moment of the couple’s wedding, including some seriously captivating golden hour portraits.

The Couple:

Sarah and Jonny

The Wedding:

Pomar Junction Vineyard & Winery, San Luis Obispo, California

a-california-countryside-wedding-at-pomar-junction-vineyard-winery-33

The most important part of planning our wedding was choosing the venue. We really wanted to find a place represented both of our upbringings, which was in the country. We also both really love wine, so getting married at a vineyard was the perfect scenario for us.

a-california-countryside-wedding-at-pomar-junction-vineyard-winery-7

a-california-countryside-wedding-at-pomar-junction-vineyard-winery-8

My wedding dress was the most beautiful dress I have ever worn. It was pretty simple and slip on, so it was really comfortable, which was really important to me. It was all lace, so very delicate and feminine. I wore a flower crown and veil during the ceremony then switched to a very simple halo made with pearls and gold for the reception.

a-california-countryside-wedding-at-pomar-junction-vineyard-winery-21

a-california-countryside-wedding-at-pomar-junction-vineyard-winery-13

From Sarah: Our first look was my most memorable moment. It was the most intensely euphoric feeling I have ever experienced. All the planning and people and chaos was completely silenced in that moment. I will never forget that feeling.

a-california-countryside-wedding-at-pomar-junction-vineyard-winery-14

a-california-countryside-wedding-at-pomar-junction-vineyard-winery-16

The bridal party dresses were all natural shades of green. I wanted all my girls to feel beautiful and so they all got to choose their own dress and none of them matched. It all came together so beautifully and everyone felt and looked AMAZING.

a-california-countryside-wedding-at-pomar-junction-vineyard-winery-19

Our venue was everything we needed to represent who we are. We currently live in the heart of Hollywood, but we were both raised in the country, so we needed something that represented our roots. The view at the vineyard was breathtaking. There were vineyards in every direction and flowers and trees blooming everywhere. We said our vows underneath a giant oak tree that had been there for hundreds of years. There was something so solidifying about reciting our vows under that tree. Almost as if saying them there ensured they will last forever.

a-california-countryside-wedding-at-pomar-junction-vineyard-winery-23

a-california-countryside-wedding-at-pomar-junction-vineyard-winery-25

a-california-countryside-wedding-at-pomar-junction-vineyard-winery-26

Jonny’s uncle officiated for us. The two of them are very close and we were so honored that he agreed. We wrote our own vows together and they were extremely intimate and personal. My nieces (who I am very close with) both did readings.

a-california-countryside-wedding-at-pomar-junction-vineyard-winery-27

Jonny performed “Deeper Than The Holler,” by Randy Travis during the ceremony and I didn’t know what the song was until he started playing. It was magical. We wrote our vows together but each wrote a few opening lines at the beginning and got a few laughs from our guests. It was the perfect setup in my mind.

a-california-countryside-wedding-at-pomar-junction-vineyard-winery-28

a-california-countryside-wedding-at-pomar-junction-vineyard-winery-29

From Jonny: The first time being introduced as husband and wife was the most memorable because it was both a huge relief that everything went smoothly and EXCITING because we were married!

a-california-countryside-wedding-at-pomar-junction-vineyard-winery-31

a-california-countryside-wedding-at-pomar-junction-vineyard-winery-24

My girlfriends helped make our centerpieces, which were Mason Jars terrariums with succulents and dinosaur figurines. They also helped make our table runners which had to be hand cut and we dyed the ends to give an ombre look. Guests all took home our handmade succulent centerpieces as favors. We made terrariums because they keep on growing, just like our love, haha!

a-california-countryside-wedding-at-pomar-junction-vineyard-winery-20

Our advice: Hire a “day of” coordinator. Our coordinator Lindsay swooped in last minute during the last month before the wedding and basically took over from there. I gave her a vendor list and she took care of the rest. She was AMAZING to work with. Very friendly and easy to talk to. Any time I asked her for advice, she gave honest helpful feedback. She was also a BIG help with decorations and set up everything herself!

Urban Forest Chic Wedding at the Solar Arts Building

July 29, 2016 | Junebug Weddings

urban-forest-chic-wedding-at-the-solar-arts-building-18

Brittney and Dave’s Minneapolis wedding had a chic forested take on urban sophistication! Floral designer Ashley Fox Designs transformed the couple’s industrial venue, Solar Arts Building, to a fairy tale space complete with a suspended aisle of greenery, tons of candles, and warm wooden accents. We love how the variety of ways photographer Brandon Werth captured Brittney and Dave’s special day, including some creative double exposures and couple portrait collages!

The Couple:

Brittney and Dave

The Wedding:

Solar Arts Building, Minneapolis, Minnesota

The most important thing to us in planning our wedding was making sure it was a fun and relaxing evening for our guests. We hosted our wedding in a place near and dear to our hearts, Minneapolis, which meant half of our guests were coming from out of town. So while it was a “local-destination” wedding, we wanted to make sure our guests felt comfortable and taken care of.

The most memorable part of our day was our ceremony. Both David and myself began planning our wedding knowing how important this part of our wedding was to us and while it was short, we made sure it was as meaningful to the two of us as possible. Everything from the music to our Pastor’s beautiful homily truly still brings tears to my eyes. The floral display our florist, Ashley Fox Designs, created was designed with the center aisle in mind and she went above and beyond creating an aisle that I will always cherish as my “fairy tale” walk of a lifetime.

urban-forest-chic-wedding-at-the-solar-arts-building-22

We DIY’d a few things for our wedding and even asked a few helping hands to assist us, as well. Our ceremony backdrop (which turned into our head table and photo booth backdrop) was created by my grandfather. We wanted to bring the woods into the city and he helped us by creating a stunning backdrop our florist adorned with gorgeous greenery.

urban-forest-chic-wedding-at-the-solar-arts-building-24

urban-forest-chic-wedding-at-the-solar-arts-building-25

Definitely not to be forgotten, in the middle of our ring exchange, David surprised me with a wedding band! I had no idea what he had up his sleeve until he gave me a panicked look during the ring exchange exclaiming we were ‘missing a ring.’ Much to my confusion, his dad stood up and offered up the “missing ring” – a wedding band that perfectly fit my engagement ring. The look on my face was priceless and our brilliant photographer caught every confused and joyous expression.

urban-forest-chic-wedding-at-the-solar-arts-building-26

Be sure to tell your photographers if there is anything special or out-of-the-ordinary taking place throughout the day. I credit my husband for filling our talented photographers in on his little secrets so that they were there to help capture those special moments for us!

urban-forest-chic-wedding-at-the-solar-arts-building-1

Our photographer was absolutely incredible. My husband is a wedding photographer, as well, so having many wonderfully talented friends in the industry made this decision one of the hardest during our entire planning process. Ultimately, we had been in love with Brandon’s work for ages and we knew that if we let him create, we would be more than happy with what he returned to us. No shock, we are absolutely in love with our photos and are so happy with them!

urban-forest-chic-wedding-at-the-solar-arts-building-31

Some advice we would share is to not stress over the small things. Yes, it sounds cliche, but we found that the age-old expression rings true more than ever in planning a wedding. About a month before our wedding, we had a stark realization that no matter how the day went, no matter what others thought of it, or how many little “details” we planned for or even forgot, the end result would be the same – we would be married in front of our family and friends. So no matter what happens between saying “yes” to “I do,” be sure to keep the reason you’re on this journey in mind and show as much gratitude to those helping you along the way as possible.

urban-forest-chic-wedding-at-the-solar-arts-building-32

Our wedding vibe was best described by my husband as urban-forest-chic. We really wanted an outdoor wedding, but in fear of Minnesota’s ever changing weather, we opted for an indoor ceremony and reception. So we had to bring the outdoors inside and with the help of our florist our vision was brought to life. Our entire venue had a warehouse feel (complete with wooden floors and ceiling and exposed beams), and I told Ashley (our florist) that I wanted as much greenery brought into the space as possible. She blew us away with a suspended aisle of greens along with other greens put in as many places as we could.
