Elegant Black and White Phoenix Desert Wedding

July 31, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

Lauren and Kendrian channeled trendy vibes in their Phoenix desert wedding with an elegant black and white palette, edgy accents, and totally chic florals. The couple began their day with a gorgeous church ceremony, followed it up with an urban portrait shoot around Phoenix, and ended their perfect wedding day with an industrial and greenery-inspired reception at Events on Jackson. Not wanting to abandon her love for romantic ballgowns to match her wedding’s hip style, Lauren wore a stunning tulle strapless gown by Watters! Lauren and Kendrian wanted to fully showcase their love for the desert in their wedding photos, so they asked their photographer Abby Roses to join them the day after their wedding for an edgy desert photo shoot, complete with a leather jacket, a beautiful horse, and sweet sunnies.

The Couple:

Lauren and Kendrian

The Wedding:

Trinity Cathedral & Events on Jackson, Phoenix, Arizona

The most memorable part of our day was during the ceremony where we both felt so much love, and the tangible presence of God around us.

I tried on so many dresses, and really wanted to go with something really trendy – perhaps something with lace and long sleeves, and I did find some I loved, but I when it came down to it my fiancé told me to choose something that made me feel like a princess- and so I went with something a little more classy and glamorous than I imagined. I have no regrets, our wedding was “ballroom meets the desert” and I loved it. The thick tulle on my wedding dress was my favorite. Everyone else wore black and white – what a classy crew we had.

Our advice: There’s going to be a lot of things that have the potential of stressing you out – take it moment by moment, and prioritize the things that are most important, and don’t worry so much about the other little things.

The essential for us was making sure the day was saturated in joy from start to finish. We planned the whole day to be the most fun and relaxing chill wedding we could ever have. Also candles.

Dusty Rose and Emerald Grand Rapids Barn Wedding

July 30, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

If impeccable style, a romantic color palette, and elegant-meets-rustic décor are on your list of wedding must-haves, this Grand Rapids barn wedding needs to be at the top of your inspiration board! Chelsea Seekell, the photographer turned bride, and her stylish hubby turned every element into a designer’s dream, mixing vintage and rustic pieces and tying it all together with a glamorous palette of dusty rose, emerald green, black, white, and gold. We don’t typically see such rich colors in summer weddings, so this unique twist was as refreshing as it was stunning! From the modern studio ceremony to the sunset portraits amid the wildflowers to the intimate barn reception, Tana Helene Photography had us falling more in love with this beautiful couple and their gorgeous wedding day with every image!

The Couple:

Chelsea and Jordan

The Wedding:

A.K. Rikks and Private Barn, Grand Rapids, Michigan

We wanted the day to feel very “us”. Jordan works in fashion, so the emerald green tuxedo was his way to spice things up. I wanted our ceremony to be more about us and less about the décor, so we went with a clean, minimal look. For our reception in the barn, we wanted to make feel a bit fancier. So we went all out with the flowers, gold flatware, and details.

Our advice is: don’t take things too seriously; 100% do a first look; make it more about the two of you and less about posing for photos, and actually ATTEND your own wedding!

Playful Urban Vow Renewal at Brake & Clutch Warehouse

July 30, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

Vow renewals hold a very special place in our hearts, and Janae and Troy’s celebration at Brake & Clutch Warehouse is quickly becoming one of our all-time favorites! These high school sweethearts never had the chance to plan a real wedding, so, for their fifth anniversary, they enlisted the help of Bash + Co Events and Yellow Thistle Design to create a magical, bohemian-inspired event for them to exchange vows in front of their loved ones. After the ceremony, the couple had another special treat for their guests: a smoke bomb gender reveal to announce the newest member of their family! Lauren Nicole Photography truly captured the unique story and intense love this couple shares, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to share it with you!

From the photographer: Troy and Janae have an incredible love story. They were high school sweethearts who were expecting twins and ended up getting married in a courthouse instead of having a wedding. They lost their babies, were expecting again, lost that baby, and eventually lost their way. The three white balloons at the ceremony represent the babies they lost. Through all of this, the Lord saved them and they came out stronger as husband and wife — something that is now so fruitful and redeemed beyond measure. They’ve been married for 5 years now and have two beautiful daughters. At the end of their ceremony, they did a gender reveal, and now their little boy on his way! They are the sweetest, most loving family, and they are continually growing in their love for each other. I feel so blessed to have witnessed such an amazing celebration of love and life.
