The right color palette can elevate an outdoor wedding to appear as a magical fairy tale. Emma and Mathew’s lush outdoor wedding in Australia was brilliantly accented with muted shades of pink and lush green. Australian planner and Junebug favorite, Cathrin D’Entremont, designed an opulent celebration with a woodsy vibe, perfect for the elegant outdoor wedding of Emma and Mathew’s dreams. Photographer Natasja Kremers had the fortune of capturing the especially lavish reception decor, including a large hanging floral piece above the dance floor and elegantly draped fabric of pink and purple across the chic white chairs.
The Couple: Emma and Mathew
The Wedding: Chandeliers on Abbey, Yallingup, Western Australia
The Inspiration: “The inspiration for our wedding was very personal. We wanted our special touch through every carefully considered element which was symbolic of our journey together. We wanted to fuse city sophistication and relaxed country elegance, incorporating a fresh palette that took inspiration from the surrounding landscapes; crisp whites, deep greens and earthy purples and pinks. The surrounding forests inspired the large unruly green floral that lined our long tables and cascading garden of beautiful floral installed in the marquee that we all danced the night away under. I was lucky enough to have a dress from Ae’lkemi, it was an easy choice to go with him as I have long admired his work. His attention to detail is in a league of his own. I wanted to wear something that was classy yet unique with the use of tulle and I still felt myself in.”
The Moments: “Our first dance. Anyone who knows us well would understand why we recruited a dear friend, a dancer, to help choreograph our wedding dance. Mat and I both have two dreadfully obvious left feet. We had practiced for months, laughing our way through the steps and technical lifts my over ambitious friend had set for us. We always saw the first dance as a way to get the dance floor open and party started. With that in mind we recruited the help of our bridal party. Our waltz started without fault, it was the most amazing feeling to be with Mat at that time and to have our closest family and friends surround the dance floor and watch as we moved to Elvis Presley’s Can’t Help Falling in Love. To our amazement we were able to successfully dismount our second lift half way through the song at which we surprised our guests with a cut in the music. Simultaneously, our groomsmen slide onto the dancefloor to an enactment of Tom Cruises Risky Business living room dance scene sporting tucked in pants in batman socks whilst waving their jackets in the air. Shortly after my bridesmaids interrupted twerking to Beyonce and Jay Z’s Crazy In Love. It was one of the most memorable moments of the night and set off the dancing with a big bang!”
