Picture this: a rustic wooden cabin, a garden of eucalyptus, and a crystal clear lake in the background of an intimate ceremony. That’s what Robert Michael Films and photographer Marissa Siebert of Hazel Eyes are gracing us with today in this Green Lakes State Park wedding! Danielle was the ultimate DIY bride and created everything from the invitations, signs, and menus to the table garlands. Her and her stepdad even created a sweet wooden swing for the porch and a eucalyptus installation for the center of the reception hall. Needless to say, the greenery and the personal touches were the stars of the decor, but Danielle’s chic strapless gown from Allure Bridals and Jason’s classic Alton Lane tuxedo were the stars of the entire day. Their wedding was the epitome of timeless elegance and rustic charm executed to perfection!

Thanks so much for sharing. The bride had one request..she wanted the wedding and her video to be beautiful. Well, when you DIY your own wedding and totally kill it with the details on top of having a gorgeous location you’re most of the way there. Hi! I was just wondering if anyone has an idea where exactly the ceremony took place at Green Lakes State Park? My fiance and I have visited there once before, as we are currently in the process of finding a venue. This place is absolutely STUNNING! Is any of the greenery for sale?
Did they not need to leave by sunset? That is currently the rule and it doesn’t look like in the video they were gone before dark. Just wondering if the Park is a little forgiving with that rule as I’m having my wedding this September there and it would be much easier not to have to rush out
Hi Alia, congratulations on your wedding this September! We’re unsure what the rules were for Green Lakes State Park and/or the circumstances during this specific wedding. It was published in 2018, so it very well could be that the rules have changed! We suggest finding a Facebook or Reddit group dedicated to upstate NY weddings, and see if anyone can answer your question there!
