Helena and Ante turned up the volume on their traditional Croatian wedding with unexpected fashion choices and DIY elements. Helena wore a lace gown covered in delicate floral details from eNVy room paired with a pair of fierce yellow peep-toe pumps. Nina Photography documented the entire day, from the couple preparing to say “I do” to shaking off the nerves and tying the knot in a beautiful church ceremony. Finally, the grand reception took place at Marincel, where ceiling to floor was decorated in lace, burlap, and romantic shades of pink and white.

My wedding style was very romantic. From the moment I started imagining my dress, I knew it had to be all lace. My hair had loose curls and was decorated with white flower wreath. The bouquet was made of pink and white flowers. The only thing that stood out were my yellow shoes!
Saying ‘we do’ was the best part. Everything before that was nice, but a bit nervous, and everything after the church was fun and really quickly over so the ceremony must be ‘it.’
We wanted it to be romantic, so we chose light pink, white and a bit of green and put it on everything – flowers, invitations, and thank you gifts. Of course, lace and burlap are inevitable, so they could also be found all over the place. We gave out homemade schnapps that was also decorated with lace by my friends and family.
Our first dance was Al Green’s “Lets Stay Together,” and we found the choreography on YouTube. It looked so much better on YouTube than on our tape, but it was funny.
