Sony Studios was an inspired venue choice for Melissa and Sam’s classic Hollywood blue and gold wedding. Kristin Banta Events perfectly designed the Los Angeles-influenced wedding day Melissa and Sam envisioned, using glamorous gold elements paired with sleek royal blue and navy accents. From the couple’s first look before their ceremony to the first bite of their Wolfgang Puck catered dinner, the entire celebration was without flaw.

The Couple:

Melissa and Sam

The Wedding:

Sony Studios, Culver City, California

The Inspiration:

Our theme was Classic Hollywood. Since we met in Los Angeles, we wanted our wedding to be representative of that. We also wanted to get married somewhere non-denominational and unique. Once we chose to get married at Sony Studios, the rest fell into place. However, since Great Gatsby was really popular at the time, we didn’t want the wedding to be too cliche. We chose navy and gold for the wedding colors, and our wedding planner, Kristin Banta, helped us create an updated spin on the Old Hollywood theme. The venue was set with beautiful florals, rich decor, and touches of sparkle. The whole evening felt very glamorous! Coincidentally, the fitted lace wedding dress I fell in love with was reminiscent of dresses worn then. I let my bridesmaids choose their own gold dresses. I love how the different tones and textures look in our photos. Sam wore a classic black tuxedo with black bow-tie, and his groomsmen wore tuxedos with a gold bow-tie.

The Moments:

The food! And the ceremony. But seriously, the food. We knew it would be good from our tasting, but every bite we ate on our wedding day was amazing. We were truly blown away that a dinner for 120 people could be that incredible. Food aside, we had a really beautiful wedding ceremony led by Rabbi Ian. It was sweet, funny, and sentimental all in one, and we got so many compliments afterwards on what a wonderful ceremony it was. One special moment was Rabbi Ian reading the responses to questions Sam and I answered separately about each other. We didn’t hear each other’s responses until that moment. I had managed to hold in tears until hearing what Sam had written.
