What is your specialty or personal style?
My greatest specialty is having a true 360-degree vision of the destination wedding industry. Having worked with couples from around the world, leading wedding planning companies in different regions of Mexico, and regularly attending international conferences alongside planners, venues and hospitality professionals, I have developed a unique perspective that goes far beyond simply recommending a venue. When a couple first contacts me, I am often able to identify not only the right venue, but the right destination altogether. Sometimes a couple believes they want Riviera Maya, only for us to discover that their vision, priorities and lifestyle align much more naturally with Los Cabos. Other times, a couple begins by looking at a specific luxury resort but ultimately falls in love with a completely different experience once they are exposed to the possibilities. I am also genuinely passionate about luxury hospitality. Even when traveling for pleasure, I find myself touring resorts, meeting with sales teams, studying wedding packages and learning how each property operates. This allows me to evaluate not only the beauty of a venue, but also the guest experience, service standards, room inventory, wedding policies and overall value. Unlike many planners, I am deeply involved in the room block and hospitality side of destination weddings. Very early in the process, I can often identify whether a venue is truly the right fit—or whether there may be challenges that couples have not yet considered. Equally important, I am known for being highly responsive and personally invested in every celebration. A wedding is never just another event on my calendar. I become genuinely passionate about each project and care deeply about the experience, success and happiness of every couple I work with. To me, the best weddings happen when strategy, creativity and genuine human connection come together.
Couples hire you because…
I believe most couples hire me long before our first video call. By the time they reach out, they’ve usually spent time on my website, followed my social media, watched my videos or listened to my thoughts on luxury resorts, destination weddings and the wedding industry as a whole. Because of that, they already have a very good idea of who I am. I don’t expect to be the right planner for everyone, and I’m perfectly comfortable with that. My personality is visible from the very beginning. What you see online is exactly who will show up during our first conversation. Most of my couples are not interviewing ten different planners. They contact me because they feel a connection with my approach, my honesty and my passion for what I do. I genuinely love this industry. Whether I’m visiting luxury resorts during my travels, discussing room blocks, exploring new destinations or talking about wedding design, I am constantly learning and sharing what excites me. I also intentionally accept a limited number of weddings each year. If I move forward with a couple and send a contract, it’s because I am genuinely excited about their vision and can already see the potential of what we can create together. For me, the best planner-client relationships are partnerships built on trust, enthusiasm and mutual respect. When that connection exists, the planning process becomes not only successful, but truly enjoyable for everyone involved.
What’s your favorite aspect of your job?
My favorite aspect of my job is, first and foremost, meeting people from all over the world. Hearing their stories and getting a glimpse into their lives and where they come from is incredibly enriching—it often offers me new perspectives and inspires me in unexpected ways. That said, the creative side of my work is what truly captures my heart. I love the challenge of personalizing each event to reflect the unique personalities of both partners. Finding ways to make their story shine through every detail is the most fulfilling and rewarding part of what I do.
What aspect of your job never ceases to give you butterflies or make you excited?
The ceremony, without a doubt. After months of working closely together, I build a deep connection with my couples. By the time the wedding day arrives, I know every detail, every decision, every moment that led us there. But there’s one thing I don’t know—the vows. After hours (sometimes days) of being fully in control, directing every moving part, the ceremony is the one moment where I can finally let go. I step back, I listen, almost like a guest. And when the vows begin, it still gets me every time. No matter how many weddings I plan, that moment never becomes routine. For a few minutes, I stop being the planner and simply become someone witnessing two people choose each other.
Describe the personalities of the couples you get along best with.
I tend to connect best with couples who are curious, well-traveled and excited by the idea of creating something deeply personal rather than simply following trends. Many of my couples have experienced luxury hotels, unique destinations and exceptional hospitality around the world. Because of that, they understand that great weddings don’t happen by accident. They appreciate the amount of thought, planning and collaboration required to create something truly memorable. I also find myself working with many strong personalities and Type-A couples. They know what they like, they have opinions, and they are not afraid to express them. I genuinely enjoy that dynamic because the best weddings are never created by trying to fit people into a predefined template. More than anything, I love working with couples who are willing to be themselves. My goal is never to recreate a Pinterest trend or copy someone else’s wedding. My goal is to tell their story as honestly and beautifully as possible. When a couple trusts me enough to show me who they really are, that’s when the magic happens.
What is your favorite thing to do when not working?
Honestly, the line between work and personal life is often quite blurry for me—and that’s because I genuinely love what I do. Even when I’m traveling for pleasure, you’ll often find me visiting luxury resorts, touring wedding venues or paying attention to details that most people would probably overlook. Hospitality, design and travel are passions that naturally follow me wherever I go. Traveling is undoubtedly one of my greatest loves. Whether it’s discovering a hidden corner of Italy, exploring a new destination in Mexico or flying across the world, I am always inspired by beautiful places, different cultures and exceptional guest experiences. I’m also passionate about music. Before becoming a wedding planner, I worked in the entertainment industry, and music remains a huge part of my life. I still enjoy writing songs, recording music and attending concerts whenever I can. Theater, cinema, architecture, great restaurants and fashion are other sources of inspiration for me. I believe creativity comes from experiencing beautiful things, and I am constantly looking for ideas that can inspire both my personal life and my work. And yes, I have a slight weakness for shopping. Whether it’s discovering a perfectly tailored jacket, a new pair of shoes or a beautiful piece for my home, I probably enjoy it a little more than I should.
How did you get your start in the wedding industry?
I often joke that becoming a wedding planner was never part of the original plan. I was born and raised on the Italian Riviera, between Portofino and Cinque Terre, in a region known for its beauty, hospitality and appreciation for life’s special moments. My first dream was to become a singer and performer. For many years, I worked in the entertainment industry, performing at weddings, private events and theaters throughout Italy. Eventually, I began writing and directing productions of my own, which introduced me to the creative and logistical side of event planning. What started as a passion for storytelling slowly evolved into a passion for creating experiences. Over the years, I discovered that what excited me most wasn’t standing on stage—it was bringing together all the elements behind the scenes and watching people experience something unforgettable. Life eventually took me in an unexpected direction. A professional opportunity brought me to Mexico, where I immediately fell in love with the energy, culture and beauty of the Riviera Maya. Not long after, I met my husband Gustavo, and what was supposed to be a temporary chapter became a permanent one. Together, we built Pride Maya Weddings from the ground up. Today, I still see every wedding as a form of storytelling. The tools may have changed—from microphones and stage lights to flowers, venues and design—but the goal remains exactly the same: creating an emotional experience that people will remember for the rest of their lives.
What part of your business are you best at?
I excel in the initial stages of wedding planning, focusing on venue research, contract negotiations with the location and any travel agencies or concierge services, budget analysis, vendor referrals, and style personalization. These steps lay the foundation for a seamless and personalized event. As we move closer to the big day, another team member steps in to handle final details like processional orders, to-do lists, transportation logistics, and more. On the wedding day, both I and the team members you’ve worked with will be present to ensure everything runs smoothly and that the couple feels completely at ease.
What is your communication style?
Without a doubt, the area where I provide the most value is at the very beginning of the planning process. Most couples assume wedding planning starts with flowers, colors and décor. In reality, the most important decisions happen much earlier. Choosing the right destination, identifying the right venue, understanding the guest experience, building a realistic budget and assembling the right vendor team will influence every decision that follows. This is where I am at my strongest. Because of my experience with luxury resorts, private venues, room blocks and destination weddings throughout Mexico, I am often able to identify opportunities, challenges and solutions long before they become problems. I love helping couples make smart decisions early in the process. Once those foundations are in place, everything else becomes significantly easier, more enjoyable and ultimately more successful. As the wedding approaches, my team and I continue guiding every aspect of the celebration. While different team members become involved in specific areas of logistics and coordination, I remain actively engaged throughout the planning journey and present on the wedding day to ensure the vision we created together comes to life exactly as intended.
