Q&A
Connect with this vendor by getting to know them beyond their work.
What is your specialty or personal style?
My specialty is understanding my couples from the very first conversation.
I always begin by asking how they met—because within that story, there is already a vision. From that moment on, every decision I make is guided by one simple question: does this truly reflect who they are?
To me, luxury is not about excess—it’s about personalization. It’s about creating something that feels deeply intentional, where every detail has meaning and nothing feels generic.
I don’t believe in forcing concepts or overdesigning. When you truly listen, and combine that with experience, taste, and the right creative team, something unique naturally comes to life.
Every wedding becomes a one-of-a-kind expression—effortless, refined, and impossible to replicate.
Couples hire you because…
Couples hire me because I’m clear, direct, and communicative. From the very first call, I make sure to set expectations and provide an indicative price while carefully listening to their needs. This approach immediately creates a sense of trust and security.
With years of experience, I’ve developed an ability to quickly understand the type of couple I’m working with and their unique needs. I’m highly present and responsive, always available when needed, yet never overbearing.
I genuinely believe that planning a wedding is a beautiful journey. My clients often appreciate the positivity and humor I bring to the process, even in challenging moments—all while maintaining the utmost professionalism.
What’s your favorite aspect of your job?
My favorite aspect of my job is, first and foremost, meeting people from all over the world. Hearing their stories and getting a glimpse into their lives and where they come from is incredibly enriching—it often offers me new perspectives and inspires me in unexpected ways.
That said, the creative side of my work is what truly captures my heart. I love the challenge of personalizing each event to reflect the unique personalities of both partners. Finding ways to make their story shine through every detail is the most fulfilling and rewarding part of what I do.
What aspect of your job never ceases to give you butterflies or make you excited?
The ceremony, without a doubt.
After months of working closely together, I build a deep connection with my couples. By the time the wedding day arrives, I know every detail, every decision, every moment that led us there.
But there’s one thing I don’t know—the vows.
After hours (sometimes days) of being fully in control, directing every moving part, the ceremony is the one moment where I can finally let go. I step back, I listen, almost like a guest.
And when the vows begin, it still gets me every time.
Describe the personalities of the couples you get along best with.
I connect best with couples who are genuinely excited about the process and not afraid to express their ideas openly.
Planning a destination wedding requires trust, and the best collaborations happen when couples feel comfortable sharing both their vision and their doubts—knowing I’m there to guide them through every step.
I’m known for being highly responsive and detail-oriented, but also for keeping the atmosphere light. I believe the experience should feel as enjoyable as the wedding itself, and a bit of humor goes a long way.
When there’s mutual trust, openness, and the right energy, the process becomes effortless—and that’s when the best work happens.
What is your favorite thing to do when not working?
My downtime is quite limited, as my work is truly a passion. It doesn’t feel like a burden to visit a wedding venue while on vacation or respond to a few emails in the morning before heading out on a guided tour.
I love to travel, whether it’s a weekend getaway to a stunning spot close to home or an adventure halfway around the world. Music is another passion of mine—whether attending concerts or writing and recording my own songs. I also enjoy theater and cinema, watching great films, and dining out to explore new places and cuisines.
And yes, I’m a bit of a shopping addict! You’ll often find me browsing stores, whether it’s for fashionable clothing or unique items for the home.
How did you get your start in the wedding industry?
I’m 100% Italian, born and raised in the picturesque region of Portofino and Cinque Terre, just a short drive from Milan, Monaco, and the French Riviera. My first dream was to be a singer—I performed at stunning venues for weddings and events during the high season and acted in theater productions during the winter.
Over time, my creative instincts led me behind the scenes. I started writing and directing shows, which naturally brought me into event planning. Combining my network of contacts and my personality, I seamlessly transitioned into becoming a wedding planner.
However, I felt constrained in Italy. After a professional opportunity brought me to the Riviera Maya, I realized I had found my true home. Meeting someone special, my now husband Gustavo, who is Mexican, was the final sign I needed. I moved to Playa del Carmen, and together we founded Pride Maya Weddings.
What part of your business are you best at?
I excel in the initial stages of wedding planning, focusing on venue research, contract negotiations with the location and any travel agencies or concierge services, budget analysis, vendor referrals, and style personalization. These steps lay the foundation for a seamless and personalized event.
As we move closer to the big day, another team member steps in to handle final details like processional orders, to-do lists, transportation logistics, and more. On the wedding day, both I and the team members you’ve worked with will be present to ensure everything runs smoothly and that the couple feels completely at ease.
What is your communication style?
My communication style is highly adaptable and client-focused. With a smartphone, there’s little difference whether we communicate via email, texting, or other platforms—it’s all about what works best for the couple. Typically, we set up a text group and an email group to streamline communication and aim for about one video call per month.
Each couple is unique in terms of their work schedules and needs, so we have no problem adjusting our approach to ensure smooth and effective communication throughout the planning process.
