Hi hi! Gretchen, here. I'm a wedding photographer based in Chicago. I was born & raised in Cincinnati, OH, which was where I discovered I had a passion for photography and capturing other people's inner & outer beauty and memories with my camera. What started as high school photoshoots in fields with my friends has evolved into a wedding photography business where awesome couples invite me into the best day of their lives to capture the love & memories, in Chicago and around the country. My photography journey started where I was "the friend who takes photos," and that's something incredibly important that I carry with me today in my wedding photography business. The client/vendor relationship can be a long one from the date of booking through the wedding day and on to final gallery delivery. I aim to provide my couples with a professional, high quality experience while also showing up as someone they can look to as a friend: reliable, trustworthy, supportive and always willing to be a little goofy & have fun. While I live in Chicago, I love to travel and am always excited to drive, train, fly my way to wherever my couples are saying "I do."

Gretchen was the most amazing photographer we could have asked for. She truly feels like a friend along the way, she makes sure that she gets to know you and I felt so comfortable with her on our wedding day. Gretchen delivered our photos two weeks early AND delivered more than our contract even stated. These photos really captured our day in the best way, I love every single one of them. I would pick Gretchen every single time as my photographer, she is seriously the best. Our whole day went seamlessly, she helped pick out spots for all of our photos and made everyone so comfortable. I will be recommending her for eternity, I couldn't be more grateful that she captured our wedding.

Gretchen was amazing! From the start, Gretchen was easy to contact, timely with her responses, and even met for coffee a few days before our shoot to discuss our vision. She was very professional and knowledgeable in finding the perfect places and times for photos, as well as arranging travel plans for multiple locations. She made our shoot very fun and easy. Even my fiancé, who was nervous about the whole thing, loved the experience. Gretchen directed us when we needed it but also allowed for candid moments and capturing our unposed interactions. The pictures themselves turned out beautiful and were delivered quickly. We would highly recommend working with Gretchen for anyone looking for great photos in Chicago.

My husband and I hired Gretchen to be our photographer in 2021 for engagement photos and in 2023 for wedding photos and both sessions were absolutely amazing! I could not be happier (or more impressed) with the quality of the pictures that we received.Gretchen is a photographer who embodies professionalism. She is timely and is a great communicator. She was patient and answered all of our questions. Since Gretchen took time to get to know and build a relationship with me and my husband, I felt so relieved to have her in my corner the day of the wedding. I knew she was prepared and I knew I felt comfortable with her (which is such a blessing to have during a chaotic event that is a wedding). Gretchen is so friendly and welcoming (which is a huge reason we chose her to be our photographer). If you are someone who is nervous/anxious to be in front of the camera...hire Gretchen! She gave us amazing prompts that had us all laughing and feeling natural/candid in front of the camera. I also very much appreciated how organized she was on our wedding day - we had 15+ people in our wedding party and she directed our group with ease. We had planned all group pictures ahead so we got through everything efficiently with time to spare. I truly cannot say enough good things about Gretchen - and I am in awe of her talent. 10 out 10 recommend!!

Gretchen was an absolute DREAM to work with for our engagement shoot. Her professionalism was unmatched, even while making sure we were having a blast and being ourselves in front of the camera. We were beyond thrilled when we got our photos back and were stunned at both the quality of the photos, and the way she captured us being ourselves and looking our best. We are using Gretchen’s photos for our wedding stationary, and some prints are already hanging on our wall. We couldn’t recommend Gretchen enough for ANY event or photography need.

Gretchen is amazing! She truly is a natural talent. She captured beautiful moments of our day and turned our photos into timeless pieces that we will cherish forever. She has an eye for snapping such raw, tear-jerking memories that allow us to relive the emotions of our most significant day all over again. She not only captured stunning photos of the bride, groom and bridal party, but impressed us with purely magical candid shots of our guests from the ceremony and reception. The compilation of these shots truly feels fully representative of our day. On the wedding day itself, Gretchen did a great job of adapting and rolling with the challenges the weather presented during our portraits. She consistently checked in with my husband and I throughout the reception but did it in a way that allowed us to be present and enjoy ourselves while also sticking to our itinerary of requested photos. Her editing style is elegant, clean and vibrant. Gretchen delivered more sneak peaks than we ever expected (which we fell in love with) and our final gallery soon after. All in all, we had the most pleasant experience working with Gretchen and cannot recommend her enough!
