BEST OF THE BEST DESTINATION PHOTO CONTEST FAQ PAGE

What Does Destination Photography Mean?

Destination photography highlights the landscape and/or architecture of a particular destination. For this contest, we look at the balance between the beauty of a destination and the love between the couple. Instead of focusing on how many miles the photographer and/or couple had to travel to take a photo, we look at the image’s ability to blend the destination and couple into a single piece of art that might inspire another couple to travel (and hopefully bring a photographer along, too!). This contest brings attention to the fun of destination photography, as well as highlights work from the best destination photographers in the world. If you have further questions about this, please feel free to email us at [email protected].

Image Requirements:

How should I submit my images?

As we receive such a large quantity of image submissions, we request that you send us your image entries via our submission form

What rules do you have about post-production edits?

Diptychs, triptychs, and similar photo combinations are allowed and will be considered as a single Entry and should be combined into one image file. Images using AI to generate elements or embellish reality will not be allowed (ex: adding more flowers, changing the background to showcase elements that were not originally present). However, removing distractions (ex: an exit sign or leaves on the ground) is allowed. Composites using two images taken on the same day are permitted. As part of our judging process, Junebug has the right to ask for the original RAW image to ensure generative AI was not used by the Entrant.

Can I submit an image if it’s been featured on a blog?

This all depends on that blog’s exclusivity policy. If you still have rights to the image, you can submit it to our contest.

If my photos have been published on the Junebug blog, can I still submit them to the contest?

Of course!

How should I label my images?

All Entry file names must include the appropriate copyright - the business and photographer's name.

What size do my images need to be?

1500 pixels on their longest side, no watermarks, and 72 dpi. Entries must be compressed in a .zip file no larger than 25MB. JPGs only, please!

What are the date restrictions for the images submitted?

All Entries must have been taken between May 1st, 2023 and May 16th, 2024.

Are styled shoots/workshop photos allowed?

No, styled shoots and workshop photos are not allowed.

What type of photos are allowed in the destination contest?

The Destination Photo Contest is one of our favorite contests as engagement, wedding day coverage, vow renewal, anniversary, and couple portraits are all allowed. The only thing to keep in mind is to submit photos that showcase real couples (both partners, and no styled shoots or workshops allowed), in a beautiful location.

Do I need to submit my images when I pay for my submission?

Yes. Please have your submission materials ready before beginning the submission form.

I’m submitting images for a studio, not an individual photographer. What do I do?

If you are wanting to be credited individually, you will need to make separate submissions for each photographer from the studio submitting photos to the contest. The reason we do this is actually quite simple! When we are judging photos, it makes it extremely unclear who shot a winning image if multiple photographers tried to submit with a single submission.

How do I know that you received my submission?

You will receive a confirmation email. If for some reason you do not receive this email, please drop us a line at editorial(at)junebugweddings.com.

I emailed yesterday about a problem with my submission and no one has responded yet? Did you get my email?

During contest submission periods, we typically receive anywhere from 100-200 emails per day (on top of the normal emails we receive every day). We do our best to attend to each email as quickly as possible, and just ask that you be patient with us. If we still have yet to email back after 3 days, please follow up at [email protected].

Payments:

How much does it cost to enter this photo contest?

Submission fees are $32.00 for up to 15 images for Non-Junebug Vendors, $20 for up to 15 images for Junebug Vendors (a Junebug Vendor is a business listed in our vendor directory), and an extra $5 for 5 additional images. Junebug Vendors also have the option to submit 3 images for free.

I never received my payment receipt?

If you haven't received your payment receipt within 2 business days, please email [email protected]. Thanks!

My submission fee payment hasn’t shown up in my bank account yet?

It may take 1-3 days for your submission fee payment to appear in your bank records, depending on your bank. If you received a payment receipt from us, that is confirmation that we received your payment and that the transaction was successful.

I’m unhappy with the collection results, can I get a refund?

No, and don’t be a sore loser :)

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to write to [email protected]. Thanks!
