What were some of the different ways you used decor elements to create the beautiful, cohesive event you were envisioning? From the mason jars and peonies to our AMAZING photographer Erica Velasco and her hit photo booth, it all made our wedding very shabby-chic and fun but non-traditional!

Where did you choose to hold your wedding, and how did the location influence your decor decisions? When I envisioned my wedding, I pictured an outdoor venue with tons of trees and sparkling lights. I searched high and low and found nothing. I even considered driving to Austin hoping to find something. Then I found this cute, very discreet wildlife Inn in Los Fresnos, Texas called The Inn at Chachalaca Bend. Pictures don’t do this place justice. From the entry way full of trees, to the sparkling lights everywhere, to their 3 story honeymoon lodge, I knew I had found the place where I wanted to get married.

What piece of advice would you give to a bride planning her wedding today? Hire a planner! Four hours after Joel and I got engaged, he boarded a flight to finish the last six months of his tour in Afghanistan. So, I sought the help of Mariana from Southern Social Events. She really helped me make my wedding a reality!
