Support Local Businesses with Seattle City Stimulus

December 3, 2008 | editorial team

Hey Seattle readers, ready to get your holiday shopping on? This year more than ever it’s important to support local businesses with our shopping dollars, and the newly launched Seattle City Stimulus program makes doing so easy and fun! Launched by the lovely (and smart) friend of Junebug, Shannon Kelly, City Stimulus is “a grass-roots marketing campaign to urge buyers to shop local and to shop small. To “forego the super-mega-big-box for the local and the curated, the innovative and the hand made.” Sounds good to me! Just visit www.citystimulus.com, or their profile on Facebook, print out your free membership card and see all the deals you’re eligible for in the coming week.

Here are just a few of the offerings we’re excited about…

12/4/08- Happy Hour All Night at The Saint, Havana, 611 Supreme and Moe Bar

12/5/08– 15% off at Boat Street Cafe, 25% off take out at Via Tribunali, 25% added to any gift certificate purchase at Cremant

12/6/08 and 12/7/08– 25% off at Tulip and A Mano, free 8oz. coffee at the Capitol Hill Cafe Vita, 10% off and gift with purchase at Fancy, and 20% off at Velocity Art and Design

Happy shopping everyone, and don’t forget your City Stimulus membership card! We’ll see you out there!

Good Stock’s Wedding Photo Accordion Books

December 1, 2008 | editorial team

Fellow Seattleite and sweet, sweet woman Kim Screen is the artist behind Good Stock Press and Bindery, and I’ve been head over heels for her custom books since I met her early this year. She takes such care and special thought to create one of a kind family heirlooms out of photos, stories, letters, keepsakes and other memorabilia, and what she creates is truly unique. I’ve been waiting with bated breath for Kim to work her Good Stock magic on wedding images and today I’m trilled to announce…

Good Stock Press and Bindery custom wedding albums and family heirloom books

…that she has! The Good Stock Photo Accordion Book has arrived!  It’s the perfect portable picture book for your favorite wedding memories (or your honeymoon, or your pet, or any other life event, really!) and it’s so easy to order. Just upload 15 images online, and receive a PDF proof to approve within 5 business days and your finished album in 3 to 5 weeks. Order one for yourself and a duplicate for each parent or grandparent, and watch them bubble over with joy. Visit www.GoodStock.com and the Good Stock blog to see the many beautiful custom and predesigned books she offers and have fun imagining all of your family’s own stories inside them. Thanks Kim, and great work!
