Real Weddings- Quynh and Charlie

July 10, 2009 | editorial team

Happy Friday! We’re loving today’s ultra-mod and ultra-stylish Real Wedding photographed by Bradley Hanson. It’s the perfect inspiration to start off a beautiful summer weekend!

Bradley Hanson Photography, modern wedding at the Olympic Sculpture Park, Downtown Seattle

Quynh and Charlie wanted a wedding that felt like a party instead of a traditional event, so they chose to hold their celebration at the scenic Olympic Sculpture Park in Downtown Seattle. Quynh’s dear friend from childhood happens to be Heather van Breda, the owner of Real Card Studio, so together they worked on creating simple yet stunning save-the-dates and wedding invitations that incorporated the wedding’s green and brown color palette. Another personal touch, and perhaps the most impressive of the day, is that Quynh herself is a fashion designer and she designed her own amazing one-of-a-kind wedding dress! This silk charmeuse and silk chiffon creation is such a beautiful silver color, and the back, oh my goodness the back! Could she have looked any more perfect in it?

Their ceremony was simple, but still brought out the tears from Quynh. “When I heard Charlie saying his vows, I suddenly had the urge to cry, and I did when I said my vows… I dont cry at stuff like that!” When the sun went down the party moved indoors and guests enjoyed the gorgeous flowers from Fleurish and the organic food and French style Croquembouche wedding cake from TASTE Events. Yum!

Phenomenal Photography- That Quintessential Wedding Image

July 9, 2009 | editorial team

This week’s favorite photos from our wonderful Art Director Kim…

The artists: J. Garner Photography, Amy and Stuart Photography, Elizabeth Messina Photography, The Image is Found, Joy Marie Photography, Jeff Newsom, Yvette Roman Photography, Yours by John Photography

The adoration: Every couple hopes to have that quintessential wedding photograph, the one that captures their day and reveals the story of their love in just one click. These photos do just that. I adore the way these images show the newly married couples so engrossed in each other that they’ve forgotten their photographers were even there. True love!

At Junebug we’re huge supporters of finding your own personal wedding style, so we absolutely love the retro-chic wedding dresses of Stephanie James Couture! Stephanie began her design business after creating the perfect dress for her own wedding day and receiving amazing responses from other brides and professionals who wanted a Stephanie James Couture dress of their very own. Today, out of her Huntington Beach, California storefront, she makes tea-length wedding dresses, full length wedding dresses, darling little bridal suits and whimsical veils and accessories, but my hands-down favorite design has got to be the Josephine wedding dress (shown above and below). That sewn-on ribbon sash just makes me so happy! Check out the Stephanie James Couture website and blog to see all of her gorgeous designs and to find a stockist in your area.
