Phenomenal Films – Edit 1 Media

September 16, 2010 | editorial team

As soon as I saw this lovely same day edit video, I knew I had to share it. The team at Edit 1 Media did a brilliant job capturing the feel of a rainy Northwest day. Watching those opening sequences I can practically feel the raindrops hitting my skin and smell the rain in the air, and the glowing light surrounding the couple, Billie Sue and Bobby, is what makes documenting weddings in this part of the world so beautiful. Although the rain was an unexpected (and unwelcome) guest at the wedding, Edit 1 owner Chris told us, “after watching the Same Day Edit, Billie Sue realized that the rain really became a part of the mood and feel of the day.” Now that’s a sure sign of a phenomenal wedding film!

Colored Stone Alternative Wedding Rings by Cathy Waterman

September 15, 2010 | editorial team

alternative wedding rings with colored stones by Cathy Waterman, available at www.twistonline.com

When it comes to wedding and engagement rings I love all kinds – traditional, modern, antique, simple and tasteful or bling-bling-bling. I also adore really alternative designs with creative metals, colored stones and rustic textures, and these current pieces from jeweler Cathy Waterman (via TwistOnline.com) have absolutely captured my imagination. They combine romantic, rock-and-roll and vintage sensibilities, and in my dream world I totally want to be friends with the women who wear these as their wedding rings!

How about you? What’s your wedding ring like?

Kitchen Engagement Shoot – Anthony and Chrissy

Chrissy and Anthony are getting married next spring, and when they told their photographer, Melissa Jill, about how much they enjoy taking cooking classes together, the idea for this engagement shoot was born! Borrowing a beautiful kitchen from some friends, these two measured, poured, stirred and cuddled their way through the super fun shoot, and even managed to end the day with trays of homemade cookies. A sweet idea indeed!

Are you planning a unique engagement shoot? Tell us about it!
