This pretty and sophisticated wedding of Tram and Gregory, photographed by Caroline Tran Photography, has simply won my heart! I love the bright white look and the feeling of modern romance that leaps from the pictures. Beautiful!

The Goals: Tram and Gregory’s stunning wedding was just what they imagined – a contemporary, sophisticated and elegant affair in the perfect setting – the dramatic Vibiana in downtown Los Angeles. Getting the location and food right were the most important goals for the day, and the rest was filled in by the work of talented professionals and fun family DIY touches.

The Design: Tram began her wedding design theme after discovering the silver dresses for her bridesmaids. She added charcoal and cream to the wedding color palette, and they all fit perfectly within the striking white venue, Vibiana. The wedding ceremony was held outside in the courtyard and flowers and a beautiful lush arch were added to give the surroundings a garden-like feel. Inside the reception the room was decorated with sleek white flower arrangements, charcoal tablecloths and wedding favor boxes and silver Chiavari chairs. The wedding cake from Phoenix Bakery was made of white cake, butter cream and fresh strawberries. Its clean white look with a sprinkling of pink orchids was the perfect touch of color in the room.

The Look: Tram’s wedding dress was designed by Jenny Lee and found at The White Dress. She wanted her look to be sophisticated and elegant, so she chose simple but beautiful designs. Tram’s favorite item to wear was the lace veil handmade by her sister, which matched the lace on her dress. The bridesmaids’ chic silver dresses were by Laundry by Shelli Segal, and Gregory wore a perfectly cut modern suit by Hugo Boss

The Moments: When asked what her most memorable moment of the day was, Tram answered that “Every moment was memorable. From the time I had my makeup and hair done to the our very last dance.” but she especially loved walking down the aisle and seeing her friends, family and father looking at her. During the ceremony she got nervous, so she says “Gregory whispered very nice things to keep me calm.” So sweet!

Rustic Woodland Garden Party Decor

December 16, 2010 | editorial team

We recently received these images of a rustic woodland garden party planned and designed by the talented team at Exquisite Events and we simply had to share them with you. What an incredible pre-wedding celebration this was and how fun it must have been to attend!

This garden party, held at the groom’s parents house in Los Angeles, was a pre-party to the wedding celebration that happened in the bride’s hometown of Montreal a few weeks later. The couple is very organic, outdoorsy, and environmentally friendly and they wanted this event to reflect that. The groom’s parents have a huge rolling lawn that backs up onto a private lake, which was the perfect backdrop to this evening. We immediately came up with the Garden Party theme so it would feel fun and informal yet elegant. The color palette was green, khaki and ivory which are very earthy tones, and we used them in the vignettes of coffee tables, sofas, and wooden elements. As guests entered the party from the valet, they were greeted by a Motown quartet which was a wonderful way to set the tone for what was to come. Amazing appetizers from Tres LA were passed around during the cocktail hour, and the groom is a big cigar fan so we created a separate cigar and cognac lounge that guests could hang out in towards the end of the night.

There were food stations in hand-made cabanas draped with moss and burlap and the lighting was perfect with big globes hanging from the trees. The stage that held the dance floor and band took our team four days to build! The flowers were mostly succulents placed in various pieces of drift wood and birch, and the gift giveaways were pine tree saplings wrapped in burlap that could be taken home and planted in each guest’s garden.
