There’s so much to love about today’s heartfelt real wedding of Sarah and Jason in the mountains of New Hampshire. Looking to have a wedding that was romantic, intimate and relaxed, this happy couple chose to embrace the natural surroundings of the state where they met and to have a simple and sweet celebration photographed by the talented Simply Bloom Photography.

The Goals: Sarah and Jason wanted their wedding to match their relaxed personalities so that it truly felt like an intimate day with their closest family and friends. The choice of Franconia, New Hampshire’s Toad Hill Farm as the location for their whole wedding weekend was ideal, “It was the most perfect place I could image getting married.”

The Design: A gorgeous organic wedding style and a delicate color palette of cream, blush, ivory and shell created a simple and clean but oh-so romantic look to the day. Sarah and Jason designed their own wedding invitations with a hand-drawn tree by the groom. Honey jars covered in vintage cloth were given out as wedding favors, and instead of a traditional wedding cake they served delicious pies. “Before my husband was my husband, I wooed him with home-made fruit pies. We wanted to serve something that meant something to us. Cherry pie is our favorite!” So cute!

The Look: Sarah wanted her look to be natural and “just me” so she wore minimal makeup, pulled her hair back simply and crowned her look with a whimsical floral garland. Simply perfect! Her favorite fashion item was definitely her Grace gown by Amy Michelson, which she purchased previously-owned from OnceWed.com. Jason wore a gray 3-piece suit from J. Crew, that we love!

The Moments: During the ceremony Sarah and Jason read vows that they had written themselves, Sarah’s sister sang to them and Jason’s aunt recited an original poem. A bench that Sarah’s dad made out of the front door from the house she grew up in gave the couple a meaningful place to sit and enjoy these lovely performances.

The Pros: To learn about all of the wedding professionals who contributed to this wonderful weekend, be sure to visit our Real Wedding section!

A little quirky, a little odd, a little out-of-the-ordinary, I have fallen in love with the little botanical delights called Air Plants, and can’t stop thinking about ways they could be incorporated into wedding decor and design! Needing nothing more than air and moisture to happily thrive, they are easily cared for by even those with the least green thumbs (yep, that’s me!) and their wildly exuberant shapes, sizes and colors could make for dramatic displays and delightful take-home wedding favors. Check out these personality-filled specimens above and below from the Air Plant Supply Co
