This red, black and white wedding color post, inspired by The White Stripes, is from WAY back in the day – June 27, 2007, and I love remembering back to when creating color palettes and inspiration boards for wedding like this was a new additional to the blogosphere…

I happen to love a little band called the White Stripes (you may have heard of them) and on Sunday I was lucky enough to get to road trip up to Vancouver, BC to see them play and to visit my friend Ben who is touring with them (see the man in uniform above). The show rocked, we had a blast, and now I love the band even more! On the drive home, visions of their constant red, white and black color scheme flickered in my mind and I got to wondering what a White Stripes wedding would look like. Graphic, intense, quirky, dramatic and a little bit rock and roll: my idea of the ultimate red, white and black wedding! Now if only Jack and Meg would play at the reception…

Yesterday I got a fun note from Jennifer in San Francisco who is love with her bold coral color palette for her upcoming August wedding. I love the organic way that coral, cream and pink go hand in hand. Throw in a little gold and you’ve got a seriously elegant wedding color scheme!

A coral color palette can also be big and bold when you include colors like bright orange and yellow, and add small pops of contrasting color for excitement and depth. Try splashes of lime green or ocean blue in your table settings, favors or jewelry.
