Las Vegas Destination Wedding Getaway – 2810 Private Resort

June 18, 2012 | editorial team

Weddings in Las Vegas come in all shapes and sizes, and I love this sweet, stylish and intimate destination wedding hosted by couple Mallory and Justin at the fabulous 2810 Private Resort! Spending the entire weekend with their guests allowed these newly-weds the opportunity to spend quality time with the ones they love, while still enjoying the sun and fun that Las Vegas has to offer. And I know weddings aren’t all about fashion – but I absolutely dore Mallory’s tea-length wedding dress, sparkly shoes, and casual but elegant bridal style. Perfection!

What were the top three priorities for you in planning your wedding?
1) The presence and opinions of my family and close friends
2) Photography
3) Venue

What wedding traditions or cultural traditions did you incorporated into your wedding and what did they mean to you? When Justin was planning the engagement with my family, my grandmother kindly gave him her wedding ring from my grandfather, who had passed away the previous year. Justin offered to buy me a ring of my choice, but I treasure the ring not only as my own symbol of commitment, but also as a family heirloom.

Were there any places where you broke the rules in your wedding planning? Why and how did you do that? Traditionally, the bride and groom do not see each other before the wedding. We broke this rule so we could do a first look. Doing so allowed us to spend less time on pictures after the ceremony and more time with family and friends.

What was your biggest wedding planning success? The venue! Our venue allowed our wedding to last longer than just one night. Our close family and friends were able to stay at the luxury estate with us for a few days prior to the wedding in addition to the actual event. We really maximized the value of the money and time spent, because we were able to provide an entire vacation to ourselves and our guests instead of just one evening of fun at a standard wedding venue.

What was the most important thing that you learned through the wedding planning process and what would you tell other brides-to-be? There is no such thing as perfection. I was extremely organized and had everything prearranged, but we still faced the inevitable, minor issues. Also, interviewing your vendors is extremely important, especially when planning a destination wedding.
