Romantic Northwest-Inspired Floral Wedding Hair Crown – Ryan Flynn Photography

I can never get enough of the whimsical floral crown look for a bride wanting to embrace natural beauty for her wedding day. This woody, Pacific Northwest inspired crown was created by the ever-so-talented McKenzie Powell Floral and Event Design and photographed by Ryan Flynn Photography. McKenzie used pieres, viburnum berries, a few small blue thistle, and leucadendron – all flowers that would hold up well for an extended period of time. “They could have been made a day before-hand and still looked great the next day.” So smart, and so lovely for a wedding!

Seasonal Ideas for Your Wedding Grand Exit Send Off

July 29, 2013 | editorial team

Historically thought to bring the newlyweds a bountiful and fruitful marriage, showering the couple with rice as they make their wedding grand exit is a ritual that has been practiced for generations. In recent times however, couples have embraced alternatives to this festive tradition that are more environmentally friendly or that give their wedding a little extra personality. Give your guests something to remember you by with these seasonally inspired send off ideas!

Summer Send Offs:
Certainly the most popular season for weddings, summertime offers lots of ideas for send offs, from bubbles, to sparklers, to birdseed. For couples looking to step out of the box, consider tossing dried lavender buds. The most ecofriendly of choices, lavender is a wonderful substitute for birdseed or rice that will still provide you with the classic send off photo op. Bonus: it will smell divine! You can find dried lavender buds at Save-on-Crafts.com.
