For Adriana and JR, their dream destination wedding in Santorini, Greece focused on their love and the absolutely breathtaking surroundings, rather than the fuss of extensive planning. By keeping things simple, the elopement was as elegant as can be. Master photographer Livio Lacurre traveled from Italy to capture Adriana and JR exchange their vows and embrace as they admired the exquisite blue of the Mediterranean Sea, the stunning sunset, and each other.
We’ve been planning something big for the beginning of 2015, and are over the moon to finally be sharing the news! In years past, we’ve put together blog posts for our favorite weddings, but we have yet to give out awards or compile a full collection of our favorites. This year will mark the first of our Junebug Weddings Choice Awards, and we can’t wait to celebrate some of the most beautiful, artistic, and influential moments from 2014.
All winners will receive a winner’s badge, as well as placement in our 2014 Junebug Weddings Choice Awards e-magazine, which will hit the internet on January 5th.
If you or someone you know has done some fantastic work in the past year, N O M I N A T E! We will be accepting nominations until December 15th for the following categories:
Jessica and Shanon’s classy rooftop Jewish wedding in NYC was so quintessentially New York, with the vast skyline serving as the backdrop behind their elegant huppah. The classy couple achieved the perfect balance between modern glamour and casually romantic. Ein Photography did a brilliant job of capturing the couple as they moved throughout the Tribeca Rooftop, as well as the beautifully crafted floral designs by Ned Kelly.
The Moment: “When Shanon sang a surprise song to Jessica with the assistance of their wedding band. The song, “You’re my home” by Billy Joel, summed it all up.”
The Couple Recommends: “Our photographer, Tim at Ein Photography, was just perfect. His photographic style was the perfect combination of unique, artistic, and classic. We appreciated Tim’s philosophy on wedding photography, and loved working with him for our engagement shoot. He was professional every step of the way, had reasonable prices and his photograph packages included a lot of great features. And on wedding day, Tim and his team were professional, courteous and managed to capture every great moment (some we didn’t even know happened until we saw the photos) and all without managing to be in the way of our special moment or our guests.
Our Band, 45 Riots was also a great combination of Hip, funk, soul and rock and roll. They catered to our ever need and played the perfect playlist.
Finally, and certainly not lastly, our floral designer and wedding architect, Ned Kelly. He designed the most beautiful day from the floral arrangements, the centerpieces and the ketubah. Ned was a pleasure to work with and his love for wedding design was so apparent. He was a huge part of making our day so spectacular. Also, without even asking, Ned donated all of the leftover flowers and centerpieces to a local assisted living home. We really loved the fact that Ned thought of that in advance and did not let the flowers go to waste after our wedding was over.”
Thank you to Ein Photography for sharing this elegant rooftop wedding in NYC with Junebug. We love that Ned Kelly donated the leftover floral arrangements to a local assisted living home!
