Gorgeous Lake Wedding in the Columbia Valley

February 6, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Earthy-Lake-Wedding-Brittany-Esther (18 of 30)

Choosing a ceremony venue with sentimental value can be such a precious way to honor your time spent there as a couple. Blair and Enoch were married at St. Peter’s Anglican Church in the Columbia Valley, a sweet and intimate church with just enough room for the bride and groom and their families. The small service and special day were photographed by Brittany Esther, who captured such beautiful portraits of the newlyweds embracing by the lake.

The Couple:

Blair and Enoch

The Wedding:

St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Columbia Valley, British Columbia

The Inspiration:

“The mountains shall bring peace to the people” is a sign that sits on the side of the road, greeting people as they enter the Columbia Valley. It has always been a cherished thought and feeling whenever we visit the lake. We wanted our wedding to blend the simplicity of the outdoors, the elegance of still water, and the peace of the mountains. And so our colours were the colours of the valley – hues of cream, white, green, various shades of brown, with hints of gold. Our dresses were simple with clean lines and flowing, sheer fabrics. I chose neutral makeup, (with bright lips, of course!) and tied my curly hair back with rosemary. The men wore classic blue suits, once again to reflect the colour of the lake.

The Moments:

Enoch: Probably seeing Blair dance with her Dad and seeing how beautiful she was and is and knowing that this was the woman I get to spend the rest of my life with.

Blair: It is hard to say what my favourite part of our wedding is – there were so many special moments that occurred throughout the day that still bring a smile to my face. If I had to choose one moment it would be the ceremony in its entirety. Our service was held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, or more commonly known as ‘The Stolen Church.’ It is a small, quaint white church with a red roof that has window boxes full of flowers. As the church is so very small and there isn’t any standing room, both Enoch and I had to ensure that only those closest to us attended the ceremony – mainly our families. Upon entering the church, feelings of love, warmth, and support surrounded both of us.

The Wedding Team:

Photography – Brittany Esther
Ceremony Venue – St. Peter’s Anglican Church
Reception Venue – Strand’s Old House Restaurant
Floral Design – Amborella Floral Studio

Vintage Elopement at Hotel de Sèze

February 6, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Lovely-Wedding-Hotel-de-Seze-Laura-Dova-Weddings (22 of 28)

One of our favorite things about this Hotel de Sèze wedding is that the groom took the reigns in putting everything together. Mara and Thomas knew they wanted to elope, and their vintage inspired wedding came to fruition with the expert eye of Laura Dova Weddings. The romantic color palette of pinks, reds, and gold are incredibly lovely, and look so perfect in the film images captured by Viktoria Samoilova.

The Couple:

Mara and Thomas

The Wedding:

Hotel de Sèze, Bordeaux, France

The Inspiration:

As a man I had no idea on where to start, what flowers to chose, color, etc. so many things I didn’t think about. I just told the wedding planner I wanted a perfect day for the perfect bride. She asked me to describe Mara and then made some propositions and it looked just like her: elegant, refined, sophisticated and delicate. I was amazed by the result!

The Moments:

Mara: I’d say the dinner – it was my favourite moment because it was just the two of us. The photographer left, the planners too and it was just him and I, talking about our past and our future. I think it was one of the best time I have experienced: so simple but so complete at the same time!

Thomas: I would say when I saw her dressed up as a bride, she took my breath away. I Thought I was dreaming!

The Couple Recommends:

Honestly they were all amazing! They did such a great job everything was perfect! I would say the planners because it’s thanks to them if we had such great vendors! And Thomas didn’t know anything about how he wanted the day to be — they understood him and his desire! But we would recommend them all!

Handcrafted Wedding in Sudbury Ontario

February 5, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

sudbury-photographer-amber-matt-ws-974

Combining juxtaposed styles is the hottest wedding trend this year, whether it’s modern vintage, natural industrial, or casual glam. Amber and Matthew’s handcrafted wedding in Sudbury, Ontario pairs exceedingly glamorous fashion with shabby chic DIY elements for a look that is charming and romantic. Amber chose a showstopping Jenny Packham gown and dressed her bridesmaids in metallic sequins and embellishments to match. The bold red bouquets are a visual centerpiece of the wedding, and we love the natural details intertwined like gold-dipped feathers and wild foliage. The talented Shauna Heron Photography captured the intimate moments and carefully crafted details, accompanied by Riccis Valladares whose black and white film images showcase another perspective of the special day.

The Couple:

Amber and Matthew

The Wedding:

Art Gallery of Sudbury, Sudbury, Ontario

The Inspiration:

We truly wanted to throw our wedding guests, our friends and family and our loved ones an amazing party that they would never forget. A celebration of our crazy love and creativity; meticulously choreographed into a beautiful day filled with lush garden florals, all things sparkly and above all, a carefully handcrafted touch to each and every element of the wedding decor, favours and food/drink.

Creating the wedding day of our dreams together was truly a labour of love, thoughtfulness and creativity. Our wedding decor and fashion inspiration was guided by a sense of romanticism and whimsy, all with modern and custom touches that radiated ‘Amber and Matthew‘!

The moment we embraced before our friends and family for the first time as a married couple. It was extra special because we had been together for just over 12 years and to finally have that overwhelming sense of togetherness was inexplicably beautiful.

All of the professionals we worked with were great, two really stood out!Our wedding photographer, Shauna Heron is hands down, the BEST! We couldn’t be any happier with how she captured our day. And our florist, Carole from Flower Towne really listened to our design ideas and wishes and assembled the most beautiful florals and arrangements that, in our opinion are the nicest and most creative that Sudbury has ever seen!
