Is there anything more lovely than a spring engagement in the woods? Like something out of a fairy tale, Laura and Jan traipsed barefoot through a lush forest in Germany. Laura’s vibrant floral crown was the epitome of springtime and it perfectly complemented Jan’s madras print bow tie and red suspenders. Cornelia Lietz beautifully captured the abundance of love and life during Laura and Jan’s romantic engagement session.
Though Dune and Francois’ wedding took place in Croatia, their wedding was perfectly French as many of their guests came in from Paris. The Parisian inspired wedding included vintage fashion choices, amazing views, and the most epic bouquet toss. We love that it looks like the whole town got in on it! DTstudio beautifully captured the day, and the portraits of Dune and Francois’ first moments alone together are absolutely priceless.

The Inspiration:
We really wanted our guests to feel generously welcome in Croatia and at the same time find touches of Paris in the details of the wedding. I personally got very inspired by Christian Dior’s first show spaces with its palettes of greys covering the interiors while being assorted with generous pink hydrangeas.
I won’t lie how difficult it was to find that exact type of hydrangea for the wedding and having it shipped from the Netherlands to our venue in Croatia, but the result was definitely worth it.
Once the overall theme was set it was much easier to decide on the dress accordingly. I went through tons of archived pictures from couture shows until I found a dress Claudia Schiffer wore as the final wedding dress look in a ’70s Chanel show which later on served as inspiration for my final dress.
The Moments:
Walking down the isle with my dad and meeting my husband at the altar was an incredibly emotional and unforgettable moment. My favorite moment besides that was my dear friend Fanny, who is an incredibly talented singer, performing a re-interpreted acoustic version of Peter Gabriel’s ‘The Book of Love’ just before we exchanged our rings. Even though I had prepared most of the mass with her over months we left this part to remain a surprise and we were all completely blown away!

As a wedding photographer herself, photography was Annamae’s highest priority when building her team of professionals to help her celebrate marrying Keith in their dream wedding. Jason Mize Photography so perfectly captured the full-filled day from first look as Annamae walked down the aisle to first lick of fresh ice pops as husband and wife. The reception at The Francis truly showed the couple’s love for design with geometric accents from hexagon candle-holders to quirky cake.
As a wedding photographer myself, details and decor were very important to me. I have always loved modern and geometric themed things so I knew that I would want to incorporate that into our wedding. I wanted soft and spring like colors. Very whimsical!
The Moments:
I know it sounds cliché, but my favorite moment by far was walking down the aisle and seeing Keith for the first time. We didn’t want to do a first look because we thought that moment was so special. It ended up being more emotional than I could have imagined. We both cried like babies. ;)
The Couple Recommends:
Wedding photography was the most important thing to me. Our wedding photographer, Jason Mize was the best! He was everywhere and made us feel so comfortable throughout the whole day. He’s incredibly talented! Our cinematographer was my brother in law, he managed being in the wedding while filming! The video blew us away! Lastly, our DJ Jonathan Cortez was ridiculous. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about him. Everyone that lives in Florida needs to hire this guy. He is not only a talented DJ, but an incredible singer.
