With easy-going personalities, Kristen and Mike envisioned a casual wedding day with rustic elements. Colorful spring florals, light-pink napkins, and stringed lights all came together to brighten up the romantic historic barn at Santa Margarita Ranch. The sweet touches (including an awesome dessert table!) added a nice contrast to the barn’s dark wood railings and exposed rock walls. The Inspiration:
I always knew that I wanted a rustic/country inspired wedding. Mike and I now live in San Luis Obispo, California and there are beautiful rolling green hills and mountains. There are so many beautiful places here that I knew I wanted to get married in the area and the rustic vibe fits us as a couple. Mike didn’t want anything too fancy or formal, that just isn’t us.
The Moments:
We both said that our favorite moment at the wedding was when we were on the alter at our church getting married. We were facing the crowd and it was this incredible moment of looking out and seeing all your loved ones in one place for us. It was overwhelmingly beautiful.

I loved my wedding flowers from Huckleberry Market. They did a consultation with me before the wedding and I feel like they followed my requests exactly. I had a floral crown and it was everything I wanted. I also loved my bouquet. Our photographer Ken Kienow was amazing and made us feel so comfortable the whole day. I really wanted a picture out in the field with the oak trees and he made that happen. He captured the feeling and emotions of the day. Our DJ Bob was incredible. He was engaging with the crowd and kept the night moving. We got so many compliments about him.
