Ellie and Nick chose the perfect details to transform Monteverdi Tuscany into the bohemian garden wedding of their dreams. Persian rugs decorated the aisle, romantic roses hung from trees in little glass vases, and Spanish guitars serenaded guests throughout the Italian celebration. Daniele Vertelli Photographer captured each carefully curated element and the candid moments shared between Ellie and Nick that made their wedding day so special.

The Inspiration:

I knew right away that I wanted to go with a rustic bohemian garden party theme — definitely outside, with lights and flowers hanging from trees, some lace accents, burnished brass and warm metals, Persian rugs, flowers with lots of greenery, succulents, and fruit, and a Spanish guitar duo. We wanted to keep the overall palette muted and earthy but wanted to incorporate a couple of rich colors that felt inviting, so we went for a grayish slate blue and a very lush dark plum accent.

The Moments:

We were thrilled with how everything turned out, and so many things made the day truly special, so it’s hard to pick. However, one of the very best moments was when we arrived at the dinner reception holding hands and everyone stood up and clapped and cheered — we saw all of these beloved smiling faces, who traveled far from all corners of the world, all in this one magical place, sharing this unforgettable event with us. We felt so very blessed to have our dear friends and family there. We spent the rest of the evening laughing, talking, eating amazingly delicious food, drinking, and dancing. What more could you ask for?

The flower arrangements and the decor by Tomasso Torrini from La Rosa Canina were so gorgeous Ellieteared up when she first saw them. He immediately understood the concept and the theme, and the execution was impeccable. In our book, La Rosa Canina is the very best.

The Monteverdi staff were on top of everything and the day flowed seamlessly thanks in large part to them (even after a day-of wedding snafu — the original wedding planner didn’t show up and sent an associate instead, but it all worked out in the end!). Everyone was so warm and paid such great attention to detail — making our day perfect was their number one goal, and they exceeded our expectations. Not only would we recommend Monteverdi as the perfect wedding venue, but also as a great getaway spot. Can’t beat it.

And Daniele — what an eye! Nick spent months looking for a wedding photographer with a photo-journalistic style and when he found Daniele’s website, that was it. He was the perfect choice — Daniele is obviously beyond talented and his energy and sense of humor kept us laughing throughout the entire day. He is a very special soul.
