Courtney and Joe wished for an effortlessly beautiful day that resembled their personalities. The easy-going couple created a bohemian feel with tons of light florals, wooden tables, and greenery. The bride wore a flowing gown, and the groom fashioned suspenders and a bow tie. The bride’s mother’s backyard served as the venue for the big day and offered the perfect place for the party to last into the night. Talented photographer Jamie Fischer captured beautiful photos of the couple enjoying their special day!

From the bride: I love the bohemian feel. I’ve always felt like our relationship was free and easy, and I wanted that to show through in our wedding decor.

From the bride: My favorite moment was walking down the aisle! I was so nervous, and when I turned the corner I saw that Joe was crying, it was just the most amazing moment.

From the bride: I LOVED my photographer. Jamie and I had never met before, but she took time to call me just to chat all through the planning process, so when she showed up on wedding day I felt like she was an old friend. Her work is incredible, but so is her personality which makes a big difference when working with a photographer and a camera shy groom.

DIY Maryland Wedding at Caboose Farm

November 8, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Wood, copper, and neutral tones were the inspiring materials behind Ben and Natalie’s wedding design. Caboose Farm in Maryland presented an outdoor space filled with fallen leaves and a serene atmosphere, which was a perfect place to surround the couple as they said “I do.” Autumn Kern Photo documented the incredible moments at this sweet DIY wedding.

The Couple:

Ben and Natalie

The Wedding:

Caboose Farm, Sabillasville, Maryland

Natalie: My Nonni (Dad’s Mom) gave me her garter from her wedding 60+ years ago to wear, and my Mom gave me David Yurman Starburst earrings for my something new. My bridesmaid and best friend, Kat, made me a necklace to match my vintage engagement ring!

From the couple: We are both very casual, so we wanted everything to reflect our personal style. Once we found the best venue ever, Caboose Farm, it all fell into place. Our flowers were from Richfield farm, which is local & we buy them all the time at the farmer’s market under 83, so we knew we wanted them for the wedding. We chose to not have a color scheme, just what we referred to as “wood, copper & neutral tones” to compliment the beautiful nature. We both wanted the bridal party to be comfortable and themselves as well, so the bridesmaid had “infinity dresses” to choose which style. My dress was Leanna Marshall and I fell in love with it at Lovely Bride in Philadelphia, only fitting to go back to the city I fell in love to look for a dress.

Ben: I loved the moment I got see Natalie for the first time that day as she walked down the aisle. It was so hard that day to not see each other, you spend months planning and dreaming of that day but you spend so many hours apart! When I saw her walk through our grassy isle it all became so real, a million emotions run over you and the smile just couldn’t be wiped off my face.

From the couple: For the wood slab centerpieces, we chopped down a dead tree on our friend Ryan’s property, all of the candles were hand poured by us, scented with vanilla & lavender. Most fun for me was flower arrangements, I got to put together my own bouquet and even more special was my Dad brought sunflowers (a tradition between us) for it too.

From the bride: Lauren from Sunshine and Confetti was marvelous. She worked tirelessly to style our wedding so beautifully (even from her hospital bed after giving birth on the eve of our wedding!) Our photographer, Deb Boots, was great fun to work with, and we are thrilled with her work capturing some wonderful memories for us. And, Estelle from The French Petal really blew us away with her stunning florals, and we had so many comments from our guests about just how gorgeous (and fragrant) the blooms were.
