After a heartfelt proposal in which Robert wrote an original song and performed it for Rebecca, musicians Rebecca and Robert designed their wedding to include countless personal touches as well — truly making it one of a kind. The bride has a special love for romantic architecture like enchanting castles and cobblestone streets, and the Comune di Petritoli in Italy perfectly met her expectations. Shortly after the ceremony, the couple and guests headed to Palazzo Mannocchi for a pool party reception. Talented photographer Paolo Ceritano documented the beautiful moments as the sun set at this Italian wedding in the countryside.

From the bride: I love the idea of “Old World” romance. Castles, sunsets over the rolling hills, handpicked flowers, trailing vines, tall grass, cobblestone pathways and warm colours. Rob is classic with an appreciation for simplicity. His style is earthy, and timeless. We both gravitate toward surroundings that feel like they’ve got a story to tell. “Old and weathered” will always rival “chic and shiny” for us. We made mostly everything by hand, including my dress, and the flower girl’s dress. Our table dressings were hand-sewn out of vintage curtains that I bought from the second-hand store. We made an olive branch garland to lay down the centre of the tables. We fashioned all of our own bouquets from fresh flowers purchased at the local farmer’s market on the day before the wedding. With a love for all things “old fashioned” & “timeless”, the historical setting of Petritoli created the perfect mood.
From the couple: Our advice to newly engaged couples is to evaluate what is important to you. It’s very easy to fall into the trap of investing in popular/traditional ideas that aren’t necessarily that meaningful to you. You do not NEED to have a wedding cake, or an after-dinner dance party for that matter. Your wedding should include all the things that are important to you, the couple. We had a late night pool party instead of dancing until sunrise. We dressed our ring bearers up as secret agents, instead of giving them ring pillows. Make sure your personality shines through the wedding day choices you make.
