Lauren and Josiah’s woodland wedding day at the Cabins at Strawberry Hill was filled with faith, love, and lots of bohemian details. Designer Venues and Simply Beautiful Weddings teamed up to create the scene of Lauren and Josiah’s dreams using wild purple florals and greenery, mercury glass, and elegant glassware to offset the natural setting. The couple said “I do” in a joyous ceremony beneath a garland of hanging lace, where they celebrated their lives together. Amila Photography documented the day beautifully, including everyone’s excitement when the rain stopped just before the ceremony began.

The theme was woodland bohemian! I LOVE the woods and really wanted the decor to be inspired by our woodland setting. I wanted it to reflect us.
His favorite moment: When Lauren walked through the doors, and the rain stopped and the sun came out the INSTANT she walked through the doors. I loved this because it showed me God’s delight in that moment.
Her favorite moment: The rain stopping! This was so significant for me, because we had chosen to get married outside, in the woods, in Arizona during monsoon season. Haha, maybe not the wisest choice, but when we were deciding where to have our wedding, I felt like God promised me that it wouldn’t rain on my wedding day. The day of was beautiful and perfect. Except 10 minutes before I was supposed to walk down the aisle, it began to rain. I prayed, and was like “GOD, YOU PROMISED IT WOULDN’T RAIN!” But, the show had to go on- there were no tents, no inside option — there was only plan A, and that was outside in the woods. So, I walked through the woods to the ceremony site with an umbrella overhead. And standing behind two french doors, I was crying, waiting to see my groom. Then, as soon as I walked through, the rain stopped and literally the sun BURST through the clouds. It was epic. And such a cool moment as I walked down the aisle to the love of my life.
Christi of Designer Venues did ALL the decor and the florals. The reception tables, the french doors, etc! She took my vision and truly created the exact wedding I wanted. I was blown AWAY!
