Shannon and Tim’s Kentucky wedding took place in their own backyard, where event designer Tweed and Tin created a colorful and intimate setting for dinner with their closest friends and family. A few DIY elements like the groom’s bow ties and paint-dipped glass vases ensured that the wedding was filled with playful spirit throughout. Photographers Goldie & Christine captured that spirit in every image, as well as the quiet moments shared between Shannon and Tim on their big day.

The first look was such a nice moment that was just the two of us. I loved that it was in the backyard. Shannon made the bow ties, and tied it for me at our first look.

We wanted something small and low stress. We only invited our parents, grandparents, siblings and a few close friends. From there we started building the idea of having the reception in the backyard of the house we purchased together. From there we picked some colors we liked and let our vendors run with it. Rachel from Tweed and Tin did an amazing job decorating the back yard.

I loved getting ready at our house, and seeing the transformation of our backyard. Rachel set up everything, and it was a surprise. It was so special to have our loved ones at one table in our backyard for dinner. I love having all those memories around us all the time.
