Every inch of Tess and Peter’s Majestic Chateau wedding was thoughtful and intentional. The bride spent summers in France and fell in love with the beauty of the chateau, knowing one day she would marry there. A textile designer by trade, Tess also designed her bridesmaids’ unique watercolor-inspired gowns. Photographer Jiri Sipek captured all of the magic as Peter and Tess exchanged vows in a personal ceremony in front of their loved ones on a sunny day in Saint-Privat-des-Prés.
The Couple:
Tess and Peter
The Wedding:
Majestic Chateau, Saint-Privat-des-Prés, France
I am a textile designer, so I created a print for the bridesmaids’ dresses. The print was a delicate floral I had originally painted in watercolour, which was then printed on the silk for the dresses.
It was all so memorable, but the ceremony itself was perfect. Claudia (our celebrant) was amazing, and there were so many personal touches throughout: some which we’d created, and some which were surprises from the readers and the wedding party. It really did feel magical.
My dress was very simple at the front with a striking back. I wanted the back to be a statement so I kept accessories very simple, wearing only a beautiful necklace belonging to Peter’s mother.
I grew up spending summer holidays in France as a child, so I knew the area and how beautiful it is. We wanted to have the most magical day of our lives with our families and best friends, and for everyone to feel like they had a mini holiday. The venue and surrounding area were therefore so important. And the weather (which thankfully behaved itself)!
