Brett and Robyn fell in love as if they were in a storybook romance — he was the boy next door. After Brett proposed, the couple started to plan their beautiful wedding. Robyn always knew she wanted something effortless with light colors that would allow for natural surroundings to be the focal point. Their venue, Pinebrook Golf & Country Club in Alberta, offered a space for exactly that. Ivory florals, blush bridesmaid gowns, and tons of greenery created an atmosphere that was true to the couple’s vision. The Jar Photography & Films captured the effortless beauty at this elegant wedding.
From the bride: I love weddings that look effortless and simple – so that was the theme that I was going for. I love greenery and wanted that to be the main decor, but also have whimsical details (lots of lace and pretty ribbons). Pinterest was my lifesaver when looking for inspiration, but I knew that I wanted the day to look timeless and simple, but still romantic, whimsical, and lovely.
From the bride: I wanted the reception to have a family feel, so we used rectangle tables instead of round. Brett and I sat at a sweetheart table, and our bridal party perpendicular to us. I splurged on our walnut folding chairs, but that detail, along with the white table cloths and greenery details, tied everything together. Outside of the reception venue (on the patio), I created a little outdoor living room with vintage couches and a coffee table, so our guests could enjoy the beauty of the venue and its amazing view! It was a very magical and whimsical theme!
Oliver is British and Amandine is French, so for their big day, the couple chose to combine their favorite traditions from either side to create the wedding of their dreams. They went for a rustic, chic theme which perfectly tied into their venue. As a historical marker, the Chateau de Queille in France was the perfect enchanting atmosphere to host their fairy tale wedding. Photographer Petar Jurica expertly documented the romantic moments this couple spent at their wedding.
From the bride: Oliver is a theatre producer, so we decided to use lights and props from the theater to create this relaxed atmosphere and make everybody feel at ease. Because Oliver is British and I am French, our overall theme was to marry the best of the English and French traditions.
Advice from the couple: We would recommend booking the things that are important to you early. We booked a wonderful photographer really early to ensure that we could keep such good memories of the day that one day our children will look at. When all the planning is done, enjoy the day. Take time to enjoy the moment as it goes quickly, and if things go wrong on the day, it doesn’t matter. What matters is that you are surrounded by loved ones who want to celebrate the moment.
