Sentimental Monterey Bay Wedding at Monarch Cove Inn

Erica and Bryce said “I do” at Monarch Cove Inn, the same spot where the bride’s grandparents spent their honeymoon. The ceremony overlooked Monterey Bay, which made for a beautiful and tranquil experience as the pair read personal vows in front of their friends and family. Photographer Julie Pepin captured the intimate affair with artistic style, highlighting the ease of the day, the beauty of Capitola, and Erica and Bryce’s incredible connection.

Monarch Cove Inn, Capitola, California

My family has had a beach cottage in Capitola since WWII. Monarch Cove Inn was the place where my grandparents spent their honeymoon, and a perfect spot to display the beauty of the Monterey Bay.

I stumbled upon Julie Pepin Photography‘s work purely by accident one day as I browsed wedding blogs, and was immediately impressed by her unique and artistic style. Julie was incredibly patient with my fiance and I from start to finish. On the day of, Julie struck an incredible balance — she made us feel like she wasn’t there, and was able to capture the raw, emotional moments that came from feeling like we were alone, but also provided firm direction, so we never felt awkward or unsure. She was great with our family and friends, and showed great flexibility in terms of taking requested photos and extending her coverage. Once we received the pictures, they took our breath away. We feel incredibly fortunate that we get to view our wedding through Julie’s lens forevermore.
