It’s not too often that we come across a story as cute as Jordan and Dylan’s. The couple met when they were in the second grade, and they have been best friends ever since. Dylan even proposed to Jordan on the very same elementary school playground where they first met as kids. They had an industrial wedding at Dock 580 in Columbus, Ohio, and Joshua Kane Photography captured every sweet moment of their big day, from their adorable first look to their first kiss as husband and wife.

The Couple:

Jordan and Dylan

The Wedding:

Dock 580, Columbus, Ohio

The dress probably was the most stressful part of the wedding.  I got it from Wendy’s bridal in Cincinnati, OH.  I knew from the beginning that I wanted a David Tutera gown and had searched locally in Orlando for the designs I really had interest in.  I loved how his dresses fit me and after having zero luck finding those particular gowns, I decided to make a visit back to Ohio and go to Wendy’s for a David Tutera trunk show.  Luckily, they had one of the exact dresses I had loved from online.

Dylan proposed on the elementary school playground where we first met as kids playing a game of tag when we were both seven years old. For the proposal, he placed a miniature replica desk containing the ring underneath a tree where the playground used to be. The desk was symbolic for the daily walks we took together as kids to Dylan’s mom’s classroom for him to use his inhaler and share a couple skittles. Somehow he managed to fit miniature skittles in the replica also, which brought back all the memories from where it first started!

Although my stepfather has been a father figure for the last decade of my life, it was important to me to still incorporate aspects into the wedding that gave tribute to my biological father. I wanted my father’s side of the family to know he wasn’t forgotten. We had my grandfather light a memorial candle in his remembrance and included a table at the reception of several photos to give tribute to him

Although our initial DIY flowers we did at Flowerman’s facility didn’t all make it, the girls at Flowerman did an awesome job recovering and just helping me get all the greenery, flowers and berries that really went with my vision.

While the groom did a lot of designing on the save the date invitations, and programs, the bride added a lot of the finishing touches.  The flowers were also part of a DIY package presented by Flowerman where some of the bridesmaids and the bride’s mom took on some of the bouquet and boutonniere designs. Additionally, all of the table décor was a custom design which took some planning and hunting for certain pieces to complete the look.

With the beautiful New York City skyline as a backdrop, Melissa and Steven held hands and looked happy in love in their Brooklyn Bridge engagement photos. Photographer A Girl Named Leney followed these two lovebirds as they walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, capturing some truly breathtaking photos of the couple. The industrial vibe of the city paired with Melissa’s black maxi dress made for some striking images of the newly engaged couple.

This Vintage-Inspired Bride and Her Marine Corps Groom Said I Do Along The Pacific Crest Trail

May 3, 2016 | editorial team

Getting married along the Pacific Crest Trail seemed like a no-brainer to Julia and Chase, who both love to hike and think that Julian, California is the most beautiful place in the world. On the day of their wedding, the duo got ready together, Chase wearing his Marine Corps uniform, and Julia wearing a short, open back dress from Bebe. Their photographer Jami Laree trekked up Mount Laguna with them and captured the exact moment they said “I do” next to the cliff’s edge, the whipping wind and fresh air all around.

The Couple:

Julia and Chase

The Wedding:

Pacific Crest Trail, Julian, California

I loved everything about my dress; the lace, the long sleeves, the neckline, the open back! It was everything I ever could have wanted for a short wedding dress. My look was a vintage/bohemian style.

I’ve always liked the vintage look for weddings. With my husband wearing his Marine Corps uniform, I knew we could pull off an awesome vintage vibe!

The most memorable part of the day was getting to our location and looking down hundreds of feet off a cliff, and knowing this is where I’m going to marry the love of my life. It was the perfect representation of our love; beautiful scenic mountains, fresh air and the wind whipping.

We knew it was going to be colder on the mountain, but we didn’t realize how cold! We were all so cold by the end of the ceremony that we could barely move our hands. I thought I was never going to be warm again! But we stuck through it and my husband warmed me up in his arms. It was a big surprise, but it was also a fun adventure!

My photographer was absolutely amazing! She was so helpful to me and worked quickly. She and her husband were so friendly that I felt like I had known them my whole life! They had such great ideas and were open to doing whatever the had to, to get the perfect shot! The wedding ceremony on the mountain top was absolutely freezing, but they trooped right through it and didn’t complain once!
