When it comes to edgy sweetheart sessions, it doesn’t get much cooler than this couple’s motorcycle ride around Dorena Lake! Sarah and Beau let their hip everyday style speak for itself by donning rolled-up band tees, tons of worn denim, and a trendy variety of hats. From the couple’s loving side glances to their fits of laughter next to the gorgeousness of their Oregon surroundings, we love the totally natural vibes that Dawn Photography captured in this sweetheart shoot!
From the photographer: Sarah & Beau are not like any other couple I’ve shot with before. They kept “reminding” me that they are as awkward as they get. I could say the complete opposite! These two are made for each other. They love to goof off, tease each other, laugh with each other and love on each other. Their love is so playful and passionate. What an amazing blessing to photograph such an epic love.
After an intimate ceremony in NYC, Jordan and Philip celebrated with their extended friends and family at an Alabama farm wedding! The couple’s Rolling Oaks Farm wedding balanced Southern details like Jordan’s family grit recipe with chic French accents like champagne flown over by Philip’s parents. We think Jordan’s effortlessly elegant Shareen Bridal gown perfectly reflects her wedding’s country chic vibes! Photographer Marcos Sanchez beautifully captured the couple’s breathtaking portraits and rustic reception details.
After a first, small ceremony for close family and friends in New York City, we wanted our wedding in Alabama to be focused on the many loved ones who came to celebrate with us – the wedding wouldn’t have been complete without them so we wanted them to fully experience the hospitality of the South!
We wanted a venue that would capture the Alabama that Jordan grew up in – beautiful, easy going, and fun. We looked and looked and just when we thought we weren’t going to find the right place, we stumbled across Rolling Oaks Farm, just 5 minutes from Jordan‘s grandparents’ house! It had everything – a functioning organic farm (hogs and guinea fowl!); a big classic red barn for the reception; a bandstand and outdoor dancing area; and the perfect spot overlooking the pond for a ceremony, with a field of blooming clover. We knew immediately what we would be able to do with the space.
We were connected with our photographer Marcos 9 months before the wedding when he came to New York and shot engagement photos for us. Marcos brought his friend Pablo along for the ride, and we were so delighted at their good-natured professionalism and hard work. They spent the days leading up to the wedding scouting out areas – finding spots that even Jordan didn’t know of! We were impressed with their ability to find intimate moments in unexpected settings, and they were quick to grasp our vision for the event, and the kinds of photos we wanted to remember it by. They’re the best!
We went for country chic, combining the best of Alabama and France with things like Jordan‘s family grits, and champagne brought over by Philip‘s parents. We knew the venue would bring vibrant country colors so we decided to complement that with a subtle, sophisticated palette: nude/soft pinks (bride side) and dark navy/light grays (groom side). In addition, sister duo Lauren and Vanessa Guzman (our planner and florist) spent 3 days roaming the lands and gardens in the area to dress up the rustic space – what they added to the event was breath-taking.
All of the people that made our day happen were amazing. From our photographers who traveled from Spain, the bridal designer in NYC, to our event planner and florists from NYC, Atlanta and Portland, to the local catering and soulful band that carried us through the night…we were really surrounded by the most incredible talent. We loved everyone, including all the friends and family who stepped-up and helped us make the event so memorable.
While a rainy forecast might have stressed some brides and grooms, Alexis and Chase didn’t seem to mind the downpour on their Castleton Farms wedding. Instead, the couple laughed, kissed, and danced through their day, sometimes beneath a pair of clear umbrellas, but often just embracing the droplets as they fell. Regardless of the storm, an emotional vow exchange ensured that there wasn’t a dry eye in the audience of Alexis and Chase’s outdoor ceremony. The Image Is Found captured the entire day, from the couple’s first look under the trees to the simply beautiful wedding decor in neutral hues.
The first look was the most incredible part of our day. I will never forget walking towards Chase and all the emotions running through my mind. It was so peaceful and quiet and we were outside in the forest and it was just unforgettable. I loved our embrace after he turned around and there is just nothing like seeing your groom on your wedding day without the pressures of everyone else watching you. We were able to spend an hour together before the ceremony and just soak in what the day meant to us and get the nerves out. Also, we couldn’t forget the downpour during our ceremony right after my dad handed me off to Chase. That was definitely a memorable moment and something we laugh about all the time now.

I really wanted the wedding to be simple, but unique to Chase and I. We both grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee and we both love the outdoors so we really wanted everything to be outside with a beautiful view. I’m obsessed with greenery and eucalyptus so I feel like I used that in every aspect of the wedding.

The day went by so fast! I learned after the wedding that many of the details I spent so much time planning before the big day ended up not even being a big deal. We all had to take cover in a pavilion and everything that was planned outside for the reception was soaked so we couldn’t use it. The best advice that I could give is that at the end of the day all that matters is celebrating the love that you share, the love of Christ, and having all your friends and family together in one place so take in those moments during the wedding day because that is what matters!
A big thanks to Alexis and Chase for sharing their incredible wedding day with Junebug! Love Castleton Farms as much as we do? You’ve gotta see Kelly and Corey’s modern rustic red and sage green wedding for more inspiration for decorating the Tennessee venue!
