This Vibrant Multicultural Wedding at Micklefield Hall Had 3 Beautiful Ceremonies

May 3, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

Mansi and Angus had always wanted to honor their cultural backgrounds at their wedding, so instead of having just one ceremony, the couple’s special day featured 3 multicultural ceremonies! Their Micklefield Hall wedding began with a stunning Hindu ceremony, then was followed by civil and Jewish ceremonies next to a gorgeous pond. We love how seamless Mansi’s style transitions from traditional Hindu attire Photographer Ann-Kathrin Koch captured every beautiful moment of Mansi and Angus’s wedding, including their vibrant floral details.

The Couple:

Mansi and Angus

The Wedding:

Micklefield Hall, London, England

Bharti of Soirella (Chucki as she is lovingly called) did a phenomenal job at dressing me up so that my hair and makeup could easily be changed from a traditional Indian to a look more suited for the civil ceremony. It was seamlessly done and I could not have asked for a better stylist.

We needed a venue that would accommodate our busy day – with three ceremonies, lunch and wedding breakfast. What we really wanted was a venue nestled in nature; Micklefield Hall ticked all the boxes. It is a beautiful venue and we could fit all three ceremonies at different places within the vicinity of the venue. We had the Hindu ceremony in a beautiful white marquee near the open fields, Civil and Jewish ceremony near the sweet pond and the reception in their gorgeous barn.

Most important to us during planning were presence of nature – open field, earth, fire, wood, water, leafy green trees and flowers, colour – lots of bright colours, and inclusion of our cultural backgrounds.

We could not have asked for a better day – glorious sunshine, beautiful green fields, all the ceremonies ran smoothly and so much love from family and friends everywhere.

Ann did an absolutely beautiful job at capturing everything through her amazing camera. We love all the fun and laughter snapped towards the end of the Hindu ceremony, where Angus and I had to play traditional games to find out who will wear the trousers in our married life! The pictures are absolutely fantastic and always make us laugh out loud!

We had the most phenomenal photographer – the best first decision we made planning the wedding. Ann-Kathrin Koch is absolutely amazing. She was sweet and supportive throughout the day, but even the lead up to the big day she made us feel comfortable. The entire process of working with her has been fantastic. I would thoroughly recommend checking her out. Ann and Kate (who supported her on the day) quickly mixed in with the crowds and snapped absolutely beautiful moments.

Do what feels right for you and your love. Take time out to just take everything in – it does fly by. I was able to enjoy my day by being mindful of every moments and soaking in all the love and smiles.

These Photographers Exchanged Vows in a Passionate Iceland Elopement

May 2, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

This Iceland elopement is full of inspiring portraits and tons of intimate moments! Cody and Allison are usually on the other side of the camera, but when they traveled to Iceland for their elopement, they were total naturals in front of the camera. After their emotional vow reading under a sprinkling of snow, the couple explored Iceland’s rocky terrain, dramatic waterfalls, and surreal icy structures decked out in their black, gold, and dark earth-toned attire. Cody and Allison asked photographer Jordan Voth to join them on their elopement adventure, and we can’t get enough of his absolutely breathtaking captures of their day!

The Couple:

Cody and Allison

The Wedding:

Iceland

When planning our vow reading, we were extremely focused on having and creating a space where we could just enjoy one another and focus only on celebrating our love for each other! We wanted somewhere beautiful, isolated and somewhere we could escape our day to day. Of course, Iceland definitely fits that description through and through.

It was the craziest thing! We were right in the middle of our vows and were in this snow covered moss bed when a light snowfall started. It was like everything was timed so perfectly just for us.

We opted for black, gold and a variety of dark earth tones as our elopement colors. We wanted something that was unique and that would stick out yet compliment Iceland’s landscape. We also wanted something that was the complete opposite of the norm and chose black instead of white!

There’s a photo where Allison is holding her hand on my face and I am smiling. It was definitely our favorite because as soon as we got our photos, I told her that photo explained fully how she makes me feel every day!

Our advice: Focus on what’s important! The two most important things were just the basics of why we were having a ceremony in the first place and then bringing our own personal style into the mix! Also, hire an incredible photographer!

Both being wedding photographers, we’ve been a fan of Jordan Voth‘s work for the longest time. We wanted photos that spoke to us artistically but still felt timeless and Jordan did exactly that and more! We simply had a great time working with Jordan and it made for all the better photos!

A huge congrats to Cody and Allison, and a very special thanks to Junebug member Jordan Voth for sharing their incredible elopement with us. Do you adore this couple’s love for Iceland as much as we do? Then you’ve got to see this Iceland elopement that’s as heartfelt as it is thrilling that was shot by the couple themselves, Cody & Allison!
