Erik and Valerie’s sweet, picnic wedding at the Madonna Inn in California seemed to be straight out of a 1960’s photo shoot! The bride wore an ivory, structured tea-length dress and styled her hair with a satin bow. Striped, wooded parasols, plaid picnic blankets, mason jar glasses, and Coca Cola all came together to produce this picture-perfect, colorful wedding. Talented photographer Michelle Roller captured the amazing moments the couple spent on their big day!
The Couple:
Erik and Valerie
The Wedding:
Madonna Inn, San Luis Obispo, California
The Inspiration:
I would describe the décor and fashion inspiration as harkening back to a mid-century picnic. The casual nature of a picnic was exactly the right feel for such a small guest list, but the vintage inspired theme made it a bit more semi-formal and special. It all revolved around the wedding dress I picked and then all the details came into place based on that.
The Moments:
I enjoyed our first dance because it was the first time we could celebrate the huge feat of pulling off the wedding and forget all the stress that accompanies such an event. It was so relaxed and care-free, and everyone was enjoying themselves.
The Couple Recommends:
I would love to recommend Michelle Roller, our photographer. She did a spectacular job at capturing all of the special moments of the wedding. I would recommend her to anyone who needs very artistic photography for a special event in their lives. I also highly recommend our ceremony and picnic venue, The Avila Beach Golf Resort. They were very accommodating and helped me to organize details of the wedding I hadn’t thought of. Their location and venue are simply gorgeous with views of Avila Beach, and for the couple that wants a beach wedding without to much wind and sand, this is your place.
