What inspired your personal wedding style, and how did you incorporate your style and personalities into your big day? I grew up right by the ocean outside of Stockholm, so we wanted the reception to be near the water and not in the city. Since I am from Sweden and Tyler is from Canada, we wanted to mix our different cultures and traditions so that everyone felt comfortable. We had guests from Sweden, Canada, the US, Brazil, England and Austria, so we decided to do everything in English but still keep most of the Swedish traditions. We wanted the day to be very relaxed, and because I was moving to Canada the week afterward, we wanted to have a lot of time to talk to the guests and just hang out. I wanted the wedding to be beautiful and classic.

Looking back, what are the moments, decisions or memories that you love the most about your wedding? Tyler sang to me during the ceremony and I think that must be my favorite moment from the day. It was so beautiful and absolutely perfect. We also had a couple of friends who sang at the ceremony and they did an amazing job. I remember the way they looked at us while singing was very genuine and heartfelt. It was a very special moment.

The whole reception was filled with love and that is the main reason our day was so perfect. So many smiles, so many hugs, so many good conversations, so much laughter and so many beautiful speeches. We were never once bored and the hours flew by. Also, we had so many wonderful people helping us out with our wedding. Our MCs were amazing, and our flowers, the food, my hair, the music and the pictures all turned out exactly the way we wanted. But what I loved the most about getting married was to having all the most important people in my life gathered in one room!

What piece of advice would you give to a bride planning her wedding today? Don’t listen too much to what people will tell you about what to do and what not to do, when you are planning your wedding. Have a couple of friends who you can ask for advice, but don’t ask everyone because in the end what YOU want for your wedding is whats most important.

If you are not used to planning things, have someone help you out in the beginning to sort out what needs to be done and when. I have an event management degree and I am used to planning things, so that went pretty well, but remember not to take things to seriously. In the end, whatever happens, you will still marry the man of your dreams. Most important – remember to enjoy the planning, to look forward to your big day and never forget that you are the happiest girl in the world!
