Why book?
With over 15 years of experience and close to 400 weddings documented, Alexandre Bourguet approaches weddings as lived experiences, not staged productions, allowing each day to unfold naturally while telling the story in an aesthetic, unconventional way. Based in Switzerland and capturing stories everywhere, his work is rooted in a love for people, fleeting moments, and the imperfect details that make a wedding feel beautifully real. He is a discreet witness to quiet glances, spontaneous laughter, and meaningful silences—fragments of a day that can never be repeated. Each photograph preserves emotion over perfection, ensuring the celebration never feels like a photoshoot, but unmistakably like the couple themselves.

Q&A
Connect with this vendor by getting to know them beyond their work.
What is your specialty or personal style?
I specialize in documentary wedding photography rooted in storytelling. I capture real, unposed moments discreetly, focusing on natural emotions and genuine interactions as they unfold. My approach is inspired by photojournalism, with images that are timeless rather than trend-driven. I am based in Switzerland and photograph weddings across Europe.
Do you have a favorite wedding story or moment from your career?
After more than fifteen years of experience, the moments that stay with me most are the quiet, unexpected ones: a look exchanged between parents, a spontaneous laugh during preparations, or a moment of calm just before the ceremony. These genuine instants often become the most meaningful memories for couples.
Couples hire you because…
Couples hire me because they want authentic images that reflect who they truly are, not staged perfection. They value a calm, experienced photographer who documents emotions naturally and allows the day to unfold without interference. My storytelling approach and discreet presence are often key reasons couples choose to work with me.
What’s your favorite aspect of your job?
Being trusted to document one of the most important days in a couple’s life. I enjoy observing human relationships and translating them into honest, lasting photographs that feel true to the experience of the day.
What aspect of your job never ceases to give you butterflies or make you excited?
The unpredictability of real life. Every wedding brings fleeting, unrepeatable moments that cannot be recreated. Capturing these moments as they happen is what keeps the work exciting, no matter how many weddings I photograph.
What achievement, moment, or success are you most proud of in your career?
I am most proud of the long-term trust couples place in me year after year, and of having built a career based on consistency rather than trends. While international recognition is meaningful, knowing that my images still resonate deeply with couples many years later matters the most.
What is your favorite thing to do when not working?
I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially cycling and being in nature. These moments help me slow down, observe, and recharge creatively. Quiet time with family is also essential for maintaining balance.
Describe the personalities of the couples you get along best with.
I work best with relaxed, open-minded couples who value authenticity over perfection. They prefer to fully live their wedding day rather than perform for the camera, and they appreciate a discreet, documentary approach focused on real emotion.
How did you get your start in the wedding industry?
My background is rooted in reportage and human storytelling. Wedding photography naturally became the ideal space to combine emotion, relationships, and real life into a single day. Over time, I developed a personal visual language centered on documenting weddings honestly and respectfully.
What part of your business are you best at?
I excel at observing and anticipating moments without interfering. Experience has taught me when to step back and when to be present, allowing couples to remain fully immersed in their day while I focus on telling the story as it naturally unfolds.
What is your communication style?
My communication style is calm, clear, and honest. I take time to listen and understand what matters most to each couple. I believe in transparent communication before and after the wedding, and a discreet, reassuring presence on the day itself.
Do you have payment plans available?
Yes, flexible payment plans can be arranged depending on the project and timing. I am always happy to discuss options openly and find a solution that works for both sides.
Is there a wedding destination or type that’s on your bucket list right now?
I am drawn to weddings that emphasize connection and atmosphere rather than scale. Whether in the Swiss mountains, by a lake, in intimate venues, or meaningful destinations abroad, what matters most to me is the story and the people, not the location itself.
