Junebug in November, Come Take a Look!

November 2, 2007 | editorial team

Welcome to November, and Junebug’s brand new update! We’ve got a stunning Fashion Report for you, all about bridesmaid and cocktail dresses that do double duty. They’re perfect for your wedding day, bridal shower or engagement party, and they’ll make you feel like a million bucks out on the town after all the wedding events are over. They’re dresses you can wear again and again, and are so pretty you just might start dreaming up excuses to pull them out of the closet sooner rather than later!

We also have beautiful new Real Weddings that are full of sentiment and emotion. Each story is unique and reminds us that no matter the size, location or theme of a wedding, they are always sacred and heartfelt events. I love the wedding of Kelsey and Cody (below). With Cody leaving soon for Iraq it was the ultimate DIY affair, as their friends and families pulled together all the details for a celebration full of love and support.

Be sure to send your guy to check out Groombug as well, especially if you need a little tropical pick-me-up. We’ve got a great local Polynesian style date night, signature drinks for your next party, tips for making your honeymoon unlike any other vacation, and the low down on planning the best possible honeymoon to Maui, Hawaii. Our very own Junebug gal, Blair, is an expert on the island (lucky girl!) and shares her vast knowledge on Maui’s best beaches, spas, hotels, restaurants and other sites to see. Enjoy!

Happy Halloween!!!

October 31, 2007 | editorial team

Happy Halloween!!! I hope everyone out there is having deliciously candy-filled day! In honor of this fun fall holiday, I’ve put together some fabulous pumpkin colored accessories that would be great to add to your wedding look, or to your everyday style. Personally, I’m in love with the ruffled undies from Honeydew and the Juicy Gelee lipgloss from Lancome as perfect little winter pick-me-ups. For a wedding look, I think the L. Erickson headband and Jamie Joseph chalcedony ring would look incredible with a creamy white wedding gown and a rich orange and yellow bouquet.

Wild Poppy’s Texas Chic Floral Design

October 29, 2007 | editorial team

Heather Krcha, owner of Wild Poppy, a fabulous Texas floral design company, sent me these images from a recent wedding she and her team worked on at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin. The event was a combination of “Austin Hippie” and “Houston Socialite” which produced a gorgeous casual chic feel. Just from seeing the photos, I adore how flowers were the main theme of the day and were carried through in all parts of the wedding design. Heather’s favorite idea, and a total hit with the guests, was covering a 48 inch round table in moss and individual Zinnias for each of the guests to take as they arrived. Tucking them into their lapels or hair, each person was honored and each flower was loved. I don’t know about you, but when I have a fresh flower tucked into my hair I instantly feel brighter, happier and so, so pretty! What a sweet gift to give to all the people you love on your wedding day! Thanks Heather!
