With its fun, party atmosphere and the flash of navy blue bling that bride Cambrea showed-off in her choice of shoes, I think Cambrea and Christoph’s romantic Vancouver BC wedding at The Brix Restaurant is the perfect wedding to warm us all up for New Year’s Eve! Enjoy this beautiful record of their day, photographed by Michael Wachniak.

When you imagined your wedding day, what was most important to you? We envisioned a simple, romantic setting to host an intimate ceremony, and more importantly we wanted a fun atmosphere to throw a big party for all of our nearest and dearest friends and family. The Brix Restaurant offered all of the above and there was no simply other choice.

In retrospect what was your best decision? Choosing The Brix Restaurant as our venue, going with a fall wedding in the gorgeous weather, and of course, choosing each other to stand up with at the altar!

Did you have a theme, color palette or inspiration for the design of your wedding and reception? Navy was our main color. Having a fall wedding inspired navy, plus it complimented our all white flowers and decor. There was no real theme, just an overall simple and romantic atmosphere.

My cousin created a C&C logo, which made it’s way onto every piece we had printed for the wedding. It started with our save the dates, then carried onto our invites and wedding signage. We found a local designer who created a simple yet classic invite for us that suited the Fall timing of our wedding. Navy on one side, with metallic silver on the back. Our wedding favors were fortune cookies cookies dipped in different colors and designs, and inside the fortune read “thank you for sharing our special day with us”. For dessert we served a three tiered carrot cake with cream cheese icing, as well as an entire candy bar and donuts.

What was your personal bridal style like and what inspired it? My look was simple yet romantic. I wore a gorgeous Mikaella Bridal mermaid gown, and I had the trail extended at the back to follow me every step down the isle. I wore one bracelet, my wedding ring and tear drop earrings. And blue Luly Yang Couture shoes. That’s all I needed. Everything tied together so perfectly. I wouldn’t have changed a thing.

I wanted our wedding party to look stylish and fun yet dramatic enough to pop in photos. My bridesmaids wore navy silk dresses, and the groomsmen sported grey Calvin Klein Suits with Navy ties.

When you look back on your wedding day, what moments stand out to you the most? When we first saw each other during our first look. It was so emotional, exciting and intense all at once. I also loved getting ready with our wedding party, walking down the isle, the first time I saw all of our friends and family, and of course being announced as husband and wife! During the reception the speeches were incredible. Everyone who spoke delivered amazing speeches from the bottom of the their hearts. There was just so much love in the room at the very moment. Christoph’s speech was so honest and sweet, he had the entire room laughing and crying.

We would love to thank our friends and family for helping us celebrate the most special day of our lives. Everyone had so much fun and we wouldn’t have changed a thing.
