Paris Destination Wedding at the Westin Vendôme with Photos from The Mou Studio – Sarah and James

July 14, 2014 | Junebug Weddings

With a fascination of old world architecture and the romance of ol’ Paris, Sarah and James made plans to tie the knot at their favorite European destination. Celebrating their union in the “City of Love” was a dream come true for this bride and groom, and Ted Kim of The Mou Studio captured their bliss all around the city with total perfection.

The Goals: We wanted to get married in a place that was meaningful to us, with a setting that sparked our love and will forever be a reminder of the start of our lives together. The ceremony and reception were also very important to us, whereby we would be celebrating our love with our family. We wanted them to have the best experience. And we wanted a photographer that would be able to capture the moments that we knew would fly by and be able to show us in the way that we wanted.

The Planning: We have always been fascinated with the architecture in Europe and especially hold Paris dear to our hearts as that is where we were engaged. Because it was a destination wedding in Paris, we hired a wedding planner to help us out with the long distance details. We only knew for sure that we would be bringing our photographer with us from home, around the world to Paris to capture the start of our life.

The Design: We wanted to evoke a feeling of romance from the old world. The architecture of the city, the hotel, and the rooms that we were in were of the utmost importance in details. Bright flowers brought in a touch of the modern day and the overall backdrop took us on a journey into a past whereby our life’s history could have been written.

The Moments: I loved taking pictures all around Paris with our wedding party and chauffeur – it was a great way to see the city and capture great moments. The best thing that we found out was that our photographer had done a reconnaissance of all the locations on his own time which really lent to a great experience.

The Advice: Hire a good photographer! You are so busy with the wedding and the details, it is easy to let the moment pass you by.

What inspired your personal wedding style, and how did you incorporate your style and personalities into your big day? We are French and Russian so our styles are very classic yet chic. We have always wanted a destination wedding but still wanted it to be stylish. Both of us are very easy going and love to make people happy so our energy was felt by others.

Looking back, what are the moments, decisions or memories that you love the most about your wedding? The energy from our friends and family was amazing. You can feel the love and happiness from everyone. We finished the wedding off by all jumping in the pool. This was a moment to remember.

What specifically drew you to Fer Juaristi and his imagery? I love his vision. You can tell he is far more creative with his shooting style, then most others that I researched. I was automatically drawn to his style of shooting. Each photo is a piece of art.

Coral, Gold, Teal and Charcoal Orlando Wedding at Casa Feliz – Tiffany and Adam

July 12, 2014 | editorial team

We just love this fashionable coral, gold, teal and charcoal grey wedding in Orlando photographed by Kristen Weaver Photography. Tiffany and Adam’s wedding remained unique and memorable while still honoring the traditions of a classic wedding. Don’t you just adore the fresh take on their bridesmaids’ attire?

The Goals: We wanted to have a small, intimate wedding that was full of sweet sentiment and celebration. We also wanted it to be beautiful and fun for our guests.

The Design: We wanted an elegant wedding that had original ideas, but still remained timeless. During the planning process I kept both of our taste in mind. I used soft feminine colors complimented with masculine metallics and charcoal gray. We chose coral and gold with splashes of teal and gray.

Since this was a celebration of our relationship, we added personal touches that were special to us. The willow branches used in the ceremony were a nod to the flower bouquets he would bring me. They always had willow branches in them. He also introduced me to Lorina sparkling lemonades so I was excited to include them in the cocktail hour for our guests.

The Look: We had a lot of fun with our wedding day look. The bridesmaids look started with a gorgeous gold sequin pencil skirt and developed from there. I wanted there to be splashes of coral in the wedding but I didnt want it to be overwhelming. I was able to break up the color palette by pairing a coral top with a gold metallic skirt and a rustic teal necklace. It was important to us that the groomsmen maintained their masculinity so they wore fitted charcoal gray suits with gray ties.

We had Adam stand out wearing a lighter gray suit from Hugo Boss. He looked very polished with his brown Allen Edmond shoes. He also wore a different tie from the groomsmen. I was happy how well put together they looked while he still stood out as the groom.

For my look I have to say I was really inspired by my mothers own wedding day look. I can remember looking at one picture of my parents’ wedding that sits on her dresser and always thinking about how beautiful she was. She wore a stunning gown that was adorned with lace details and a long train. Her hair was worn down with a fingertip length veil. I kept her dress in mind while searching for mine. When I found my dress I was struck by the intricate detail of the lace that sparkled with hand sewn sequins. The most beautiful parts were the train and the sweetheart neckline. I also chose to wear my hair down with a fingertip length veil. I accessorized with my great grandmothers engagement ring, chandelier rose gold earrings that had a freshwater pearl hanging in the center, and sparkly Jimmy Choo shoes.

The Moments: We chose to be traditional and not see each other until I walked down the aisle. The first time we made eye contact had to be one of the best parts of the day.

My father hand crafted a time capsule wine box that we used during the ceremony. He kept it hidden until until after I walked down the aisle. It was so special to see it for the first time as we were enclosing our letters. He had put so much love a work into it and I was blown away by his craftsmanship.

After the ceremony it was really nice to take a few moments away for our formal portraits together. That was really the most intimate time during the wedding. It gave us time to talk and enjoy each other before the reception. I am so stunned by the pictures that Kristen Weaver was able to get during this time. I think she really captured that moment beautifully.

I absolutely loved every minute of our reception. We had so much fun letting loose and dancing with all of our family and friends. The service Arthur’s Catering provided was unbelievable and AJ, our DJ from A-List Entertainment, did an amazing job getting everyone on the dance floor and keeping us entertained for the entire reception. It flew by so fast!

I think the biggest success for the wedding was planning a beautiful wedding that we were able to enjoy. We had so much fun and it was so special to be surrounded by our friends and family.
