We’re dreaming of casual summer fêtes around the Junebug office this week, and Alli and Ben’s backyard coral and teal wedding at Kingsland Bay State Park is exactly what we were looking for. The sweet pair became engaged in the same spot as their wedding, making the venue choice extra special. We love the way VT Enchanted Events carried out the couple’s personality and excitement in the wedding decor, from the outdoor ceremony to the rustic dinner reception. Surrounded by friends and family and backyard games, the newlyweds enjoyed their first few moments as husband and wife.

The Inspiration:
Casual, natural, and fun. We planned to do away with many wedding traditions like having bridesmaids and groomsman, and we wanted to ensure we created a setting where guests could actually have some fun. We’re also both outdoor enthusiasts and knew we would be having the wedding at Kingsland Bay State Park (it’s also where we got engaged!) so it was important that touches of nature were present too. We communicated those thoughts to our wedding planner and then honestly left much of the vision up to her and her team! We think they did an amazing job and couldn’t be more thrilled, especially with how much it really stayed on point with who we are and what we hoped for out of the day.
The Moments:
Ben says when we read our vows to each other because we wrote our own and they were very special to us. We both teared up not only when reading them but hearing each other read theirs as well. Alli says her favorite moment was when we went back outside after cutting the cake and relaxed alone together on one of the outdoor couches that was set up. We were able to look out on the lake and the gorgeous sun starting to set, reflect on how great the day had been so far, and how much we had to look forward to as husband and wife!
The Couple Recommends:
Everyone was so outstanding and went above and beyond, but we both agree our day would have been nowhere near as incredible as it was were it not for our amazing planner, Jackie Watson, and her team at VT Enchanted Events. Jackie was incredibly organized and always two steps ahead, had wonderful contacts and suggestions, and did a great job at putting together a day that we will cherish forever! We also also very thankful for our wedding photographers, Daria and her husband Andy at Daria Bishop Photography, because they were able to put two very shy and awkward people (us!) at ease throughout the whole day and capture some great moments. We were really worried about having pictures that seemed posed or that we would feel uncomfortable in front of the camera, but Daria and Andy were just the perfect match for us!
