Negin and Josh weren’t afraid to brave the Angeles National Forest in order to get amazing shots out of their engagement session. Clarkie Photography captured images that are both romantic and exhilarating, which seem to be two characteristics of the couple as well. Adventurous engagement locations always get us excited about the possibilities nature has to offer to a photographer, and Clarkie Photography skillfully stepped up to the challenge.
The beauty of the forest and the immense love shared between Lynn and Richard were the main focal points of their woodland wedding. The understated natural elements were the perfect choice for an intimate outdoor ceremony. Lynn’s lace three-quarter length sleeve gown elevated the elegance of the day and complemented the romantic greenery in her loose bouquet. Therese Winberg Photography impeccably captured Lynn and Richard’s personalities throughout their most special day.
As we are two creative professionals it was important for us to plan every detail ourselves in an effort to make it more personal and unique. We even printed out the invitations at home on special paper to ensure the quality of the end product. Our inspiration has come from weddings that we have attended and through online media.
From the very beginning we wanted the wedding to be set in a traditionally Swedish backdrop. A red barn, an iconic piece of the Swedish landscape, set in the abundant forests Sweden is well known for. We also felt it important to create a relaxed friendly environment. So everything from the drawing style of the invitations to the signage were designed to reinforce this. The table decorations were also set up to encourage conversation and the fairy lights creating an easy-going soft ambiance.
The Couple Recommends:
We feel the most important part of the wedding was to capture the moments as they appeared throughout the day. It was therefore imperative that we had a photographer that understood this whom could capture the beauty of the environment and to portray every detail. Therese Winberg gracefully blended in with the guests and captured spontaneous moments of joy. When it was all over and done with, it is the photography that we remember the day with.
After a romantic hike through the Dolomite Mountains in Italy and a sweet proposal, Alessia and Paul decided that a wedding in Italy would be a perfect fit for them. Their Ravello wedding was filled with soft ivory roses and simple, classic elements. The bride’s gorgeous gown was the gown her grandmother wore at her wedding in 1957! The historic architecture at Villa Eva created a romantic and richly textured atmosphere, a perfect stage for awe-inspiring photos. Talented photographer Gianni Di Natale captured breathtaking views of the couple at their Ravello wedding!
Paul and I knew we wanted to have our wedding in Italy as soon as we got engaged. We are both fascinated by the culture and the natural beauty Italy has to offer. When I was a child I had vacationed in Capri with my family and had always remembered it as being a very romantic and awe-inspiring place, so I decided to take a trip there with Paul to check out potential wedding venues. As soon as we saw Villa Eva, we knew right away that that was the place where we had to have our reception. I wanted the style of my wedding to be very classic, timeless and chic. I decided to wear the wedding dress my grandmother wore for her wedding in 1957. The dress was an ivory, all lace dress with cap sleeves that is just as relevant now as it was then. For the reception I wore a simple grecian inspired dress that fit with the location. The bridesmaids also wore grecian inspired dresses that I had them pick out in a neutral beige/pale blush tone. We chose to have the ceremony in a small 11th century church, which we decorated with all white flower arrangements. At the reception I wanted to keep everything simple because the gardens at the villa were full of beautiful flowers in full bloom and the scenery of the Amalfi coast was so stunning that I did not want anything to detract from that. To keep with our classic and elegant theme we chose to have silver and white table settings and small white flower arrangements on the tables. During the dinner we had live piano music and afterwards we had a dj for dancing until the end of the night.
The Moments:
My favorite moments from my wedding day were getting ready with my bridesmaids, seeing my husband’s reaction when I walked down the aisle, and watching my family and friends enjoying each other’s company and having a great time together. Even though every detail of the wedding decor and everything that I had planned had gone smoothly, the moments that I cherish the most were just being around the people that I care about and having them celebrate one of the most important days of my life with me. I think my best advice for brides to be is to try to slow down and savor the moment as it’s happening. On the day of your wedding do not stress about the details, just make sure you take a moment to take it all in!
