Brooklyn may be in the heart of a concrete paradise, but Jazmyne and Steve transformed an urban loft into a tropical greenhouse for their wedding. The Jewish ceremony took place underneath a chuppah of large green leaves inside of 501 Union. The natural-meets-industrial aesthetic perfectly captured Jazmyne and Steve’s personalities: full of life and a little edgy. Photographer Lev Kuperman couldn’t have done a better job getting all of the details and special moments in frame, resulting in these truly gorgeous images.

The Inspiration:
I always wanted to get married outside, but that can be hard to accomplish in NYC. So we wanted to bring the outside in — I wanted the ceremony space to feel like it was a tropical greenhouse.
We were going for a glitzy, dress to impress, dance all night, treat yo’ self kind of vibe.
The Moments:
Jazmyne: Walking into the ceremony and seeing all of our favorite people in one room was completely overwhelming- I cried the whole way down the aisle!
Steve: Seeing Jazmyne for the first time in her dress…and our soul train line!
The Couple Recommends:
All of our vendors were incredible, and since we got married in Brooklyn but live in LA, we had to just let go a little and trust that our vendors had everything under control.
We were especially thankful for Cantor Ellen Stettner for officiating our ceremony. She was very open to our interfaith marriage, and took time to really get to know us before the wedding- we had Skype meetings with her in Florida! Plus, she was the cantor at Steve‘s Bar Mitzvah, so it was extra special having her fly in for our wedding.
