Lace and Burlap Wedding in North Dakota

May 1, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

After the sweetest proposal at Megan’s grandparents’ farm, Megan and Nolan felt the farm would be the most perfect venue for their rustic, burlap wedding. Driving in on an old Chevy truck, the couple arrived at the reception surrounded by tables covered in ivory satin and tan burlap. Stalks of straw, white roses and baby’s breath dressed the red barn, creating a truly romantic setting. Glasser Images expertly captured the couple on their special day!

The Couple:

Megan and Nolan

The Wedding:

Private Residence, Dickinson, North Dakota

The Inspiration:

We wanted a classy day followed by a fun night. The rustic theme seemed to fit with the barn dance too.

The Moments:

The drive from the church in Nolan‘s Grandpa’s old truck. We got to steal away from all the commotion and just be together for a few minutes. Also, dancing with all of our family and friends. We both have large families, so having everyone together at once is a rare occasion.

The Couple Recommends:

We loved our wedding planner. Charlene put in a lot of effort for our wedding and was really accommodating. I would recommend her to anyone. She recruited a whole crew to help out on our big day. The O’briens catered our wedding. They are a couple that lives in the area and spends many weekends catering events out of their mobile catering trailer. We had people saying it was the best wedding food they’ve had. We also loved our photographers. They are pros at what they do and were extremely organized which helped us out greatly. They were also a lot of fun.

Gold and Sage Breckenridge Wedding

April 30, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Gold-Sage-Breckenridge-Wedding-Levi-Tijerina (3 of 29)

Deciding to hold your wedding in the state you fell in love is a great first step in setting a romantic tone for your big day. Hannah and Justin’s gold and sage Breckenridge wedding combined the natural beauty of the Colorado mountains with their laid-back spirit to create a day that perfectly embodied their love. Photographer Levi Tijerina so effortlessly captured the ease of the celebration and the moments that made the wedding so inexplicably theirs.

The Couple:

Hannah and Jason

The Wedding:

Dry Gulch Placer, Breckenridge, Colorado

The Inspiration:

We met and fell in love in Colorado, but moved away to DC for work/grad school. When we were planning our wedding we both really were excited by the idea of getting married in the Colorado mountains. When we found our venue (which used to be a gold mine and is tucked away in the mountains outside of Breckenridge) we fully embraced the rustic, low-key mountain-vibe. We are also both proud nerds and found ways to incorporate this into our wedding, without making it feel like too much of a theme.

The Moments:

We spent a lot of time crafting our wedding ceremony. In Colorado you do not need an officiant to get legally married, and as we are both secular, we fully embraced this fact. Our “officiant-less” ceremony was performed by members of our bridal party, with different people doing readings (“Love” by Roy Croft and “Union” by Robert Fulghum) as well as some pieces we wrote ourselves. It took a lot of time to write our own ceremony, but seeing how enthusiastic our friends were about participating (and how well it was received by our guests) made everything worth it. Our vows were especially powerful, and when I think back on that moment it still gives me chills.

The Couple Recommends:

We were incredibly fortunate to work with fantastic vendors. Our venue was amazing. So unique, gorgeous, and everyone was friendly and really went out of their way to make our wedding perfect. Our caterers were also incredibly helpful with our unique venue (off the grid and no running water!) and I don’t know how we would have done it with out them. Our photographer was also fantastic and I can’t tell you the number of people who have told us we have the most gorgeous wedding photos they have ever seen!

Vintage Italian Film Inspired Bridal Shoot

April 30, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Vintage-Italian-Film-Inspired-Bridal-Shoot-Cinzia-Bruschini (13 of 28)

Italy is home to one of the world’s greatest fashion capitals and the romantic aesthetic of the country is distinct and unparalleled. At its heart, Italian culture is born out of an appreciation for art and love, which can be said to be two sides of the same coin. This positively captivating bridal inspiration uses architecture, color, texture, and romance to portray a modern bride in the style of a vintage Italian film actress that is so recognizable still today.

Here is what master photographer Cinzia Bruschini had to say about the insight for this shoot:

The medieval hill town of Santo Stefano is an ancient small village situated in the mountains of Abruzzo. Recently it has become a diffused hotel and the conservation work has been done respecting the intimacy of its peasant origin. When I have discovered it I have immediately understood that it was the ideal place for my project. The poetic quality of walls of stone, the buildings and the signs of the time have brought my soul to the ancient times and the magic atmosphere that I have breathed in those alleys has immediately made me think of the traditional Italian wedding.

The inspiration of this work has come from the vision of a lot of Italian black and white movies and Patrick Casey’s dresses have been perfect for this project because they have an elegance out of time. A small anecdote: It was March and it snowed! The model Lucrezia was fantastic, dipped in that grey and amazing atmosphere.
