Festive Italian Wedding in Cervo, Liguria

From one of the most elegant ceremonies we’ve ever seen to the wildest party Piazzale delle Sagre could imagine, Iaia and Stefano’s Italian wedding was a celebration with a capital C. As soon as the newlyweds said “I do,” they hopped in a banana-yellow VW bus and went for a ride around Cervo, Liguria. When they arrived at their reception, they were lucky enough to see the looks of awe on their guests’ faces as everyone watched the acrobats, men on stilts, and dancers perform. As if that weren’t enough, Iaia got up and performed at her own reception, stealing back the spotlight.

The Couple:

Iaia and Stefano

The Wedding:

Piazzale delle Sagre, Cervo, Liguria, Italy

The Inspiration:

Our marriage took place in the magical atmosphere of a royal church overlooking the sea in Cervo, Ligure. Musicians in the square and thousands of balloons greeted our first kiss as husband and wife in the main square of the coral. The celebrations were characterized by Sagrimonio: a celebration of the countryside with 300 guests, typical food, large tables and wooden benches; bohemian atmosphere with dusty colors, vintage fabrics, ribbons and more than 1,500 lanterns made with jam jars; illuminations with threads of vintage lamps, over 2000 meters of tulle and festoons of flags. Then, terrariums as placeholders, wood logs to act as centerpieces, homemade wine and favors with fruit from the garden Iaia’s father.

Iaia wore a vintage French lace dress designed by her. The very special cut and deep neckline on the back made it a unique garment. Six meters of veil to complete a masterpiece of Haute Couture. I wore an impeccable suit in an unusual blue indigo color, in style with the atmosphere of celebration and ceremony.

The Moments:

Surely the thing that we never forget is the totally startled faces of the guests in front of the performing arts that we had planned for them: jugglers, acrobats, contortionists, dancers and balls floating on the water and even two mermaids who performed in a tub of water colored by incredible light games. And then the Flash Mob surprise with listed among the guests for a bursting effect that involved and moved the attendance as a whole.

The Couple Recommends:

Alessandro Panizzolo made a 40 kg naked cake exclusively for us, only to satisfy Iaia’s wishes. Officina delle Fate made an incredible and unusual dress, designed by Iaia herself. Signoroni Band offered an incredible live show entertainment for 3 hours. And obiouvsly Julian Kanz; an amazing professional that, with discretion and complicity, knows how to give the bride and groom the best day.

Nautical Elopement Inspiration from Zurich

July 6, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Nautical-Elopement-Inspiration-from-Zurich-Fraeulein-Zuckerwatte (20 of 27)

From Cape Cod to the Amalfi Coast, nautical elopements are on the rise. This gorgeous styled session in Zurich is all the inspiration we need to pack up our boat shoes and head to the sea for an intimate celebration. We love that event designer Nina Pupikofer of NIMM Platz stayed away from the typical blue and white motif, and opted instead for burgundy, champagne, and blue in rich fabrics and textures. Photographer Fräulein Zuckerwatte captured the light and airy beauty of a waterfront wedding, as well as the irresistibly romantic details.

Utterly Glamorous French Garden Wedding

July 6, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Utterly-Glamorous-French-Garden-Wedding-Claire-Penn-Photography (18 of 28)

A provocative Galia Lahav wedding gown and an aubergine velvet set a glamorous precedent for Ashley and Greg’s French garden wedding. The pair were married in an intimate outdoor ceremony, while a stunning chateau, charmingly called The Secret Garden, was decorated to the nines by Marry Me in France for their elegant reception. Claire Penn Photography masterfully captured the chic style and candid moments that made Ashley and Greg’s wedding utterly unique.

The Couple:

Ashley and Greg

The Wedding:

The Secret Garden, Dordogne, France

The Inspiration:

I wanted my wedding day to feel romantic, chic, and elegant so I chose softer pinks, lavender with gold accents to accomplish that. I added a gold sequin table runner to give a pop of flare to the table settings. After trying on six beautiful Galia Lahav dresses I chose mine because of the beautiful lace details and the long train. I had visions of how beautiful it would look going down one of the many cascading staircases!

The Moments:

My favorite moment was when I saw my husband to be for the first time. When I saw him he looked so handsome and happy and when he saw me it looked like he had lost his breath. I will never forget that moment as long as I live.

The Couple Recommends:

Every one we worked with was wonderful! Beth Stretton was amazing at helping find every single detail that I asked for. The gold plateware proved to be harder to find than I thought but Beth tracked down exactly what I was looking for! She really helped bring my vision to life and set everything up so beautifully I knew I had nothing to worry about! Thanks to her I had no stress that day and I’m so thankful for that.

Claire was such a joy to work with! We all felt so comfortable around her right away and I know our pictures reflect that. She did an amazing job capturing all the joy and happiness we felt on our wedding day. And I loved her attention to detail not only with the shots of me and my dress but she took beautiful photos of the flowers and table settings. That’s something I wouldn’t have thought of and I’m so glad she did!

Zen Film Works were just incredible. They captured moments I didn’t even remember and every time I watch the wedding video (which is more times than I should admit) it brings me to tears.

I truly relive the day over and over and it’s beautiful. We could not be more thankful to have worked with all of them. They helped make our wedding a day we will never forget!

The Wedding Team:

Photography – Claire Penn Photography
Event Planning – Marry Me in France
Venue – The Secret Garden
Officiant – Christine Davidson
Videography – Zen Film Works
Wedding Dress – Galia Lahav
Bridal Accessories – Peeveys Jeweller
Groom’s Apparel – Ben Sherman

We love that Ashley and Greg had their own personal sparkler fun before their guests joined them for the dazzling send-off! Be sure to check out more of Claire Penn Photography‘s incredible work in Rebecca and Gary’s sweet English wedding at The Great Hall at Mains.
