There is something so calming and romantic about an engagement session on the beach. The way the water glistens when the sun sets, the way the waves sound when they hit the shore, the way the wind blows ever so softly — its all so magical. And, for Aron and Allissa, it seem like the perfect place to capture their new found excitement for the big day. The Apartment Photography set out with cameras in hand to photograph the candid journey of the couple strolling along the Iona Beach Park in Vancouver.
With their hearts set on an intimate wedding day, Joyce and Hector decided their home in Portland, Oregon would create the perfect atmosphere for their sweet wedding. A red brick wall served as the statement piece for the ceremony design. Baby’s breath hung from the ceiling, and lush green plants sat along the shelf, creating a cozy nook for the couple to say “I do.” Not only did the talented team at Schweitzer Creative design the lovely, natural day, they also beautifully captured the precious new moments the couple spent as husband and wife.
The Couple:
Joyce and Hector
The Wedding:
Private Residence, Portland, Oregon
The Inspiration:
Simple, botanical and a little vintage.
The Moments:
Our favorite moment was when the judge asked us to focus on ourselves while she read the meaning of love. We almost dropped a tear.
The Couple Recommends:
Peter Schweitzer is awesome at what he does, has a lovely personality and works next to his wife Kate. They are amazing people to be around with.
A special thanks to Schweitzer Creative for giving us a glimpse into Joyce and Hector’s lovely and intimate Portland wedding. Want to see more home wedding ideas? Head over to this cozy homestead wedding in Lithuania!
Cynthia and Genaro may have moved away from Texas, but their Hill Country wedding was full of traditional Texas charm. Vista West Ranch set a rustic stage for the couple’s sweet and subtly-vintage affair. Nadine Photography captured the whole range of emotions Cynthia and Genaro felt on their big day, from the groom seeing his bride come down the aisle for the first time to their first moments alone as newlyweds.
Our inspiration was the country chic charm of Austin and the surrounding Hill Country. After moving out-of-state, we wanted to re-live the enchantment of Texas, and celebrate with local tastes and style.
The Moments:
When our officiant introduced us as husband and wife — it was the essence of our special day, and the mark of a new life-long journey together.
The Couple Recommends:
Kimberley from Coordinate This really brought everything together as a day-of event planner. Once we had our vendors in place, she tied-up all loose ends and brought our vision to life. She was resourceful, prepared, professional, and ensured our day went smoothly without a hitch. We highly recommend her work!
