If Megan and Zach look familiar to you, it’s because you loved their adorably fun engagement session that we blogged back in April as much as we do! We couldn’t get enough of the cute couple, so when Darling Photography sent over their wedding, we jumped at the chance to share their incredible day. The alternative take on a rustic barn wedding in Maine is utterly romantic and quintessentially Megan and Zach.
I really wanted to stick to a rustic themed wedding but keep it chic and simple at the same time. While I love the barn look, I wanted it to be elegant and beautiful as well. I knew I didn’t want a fancy wedding with a fancy dress. We are both artists so I wanted to create wedding decor that would represent Zach and I. We did most of the decor ourselves and while it was a lot of work, we were so proud with the way everything turned out.
The Moments:
Without a doubt, my favorite moment was our first look. I hadn’t seen Zach since the day before and it was crazy how much I missed him. I looked forward to that moment the entire day. He had his back towards me on a long dirt road where I walked toward him very anxiously. I felt so many emotions in that moment. It was torture for a moment when I tapped him on the shoulder to turn around as he had to collect himself. But when he turned around and held me, the world slipped away and for that moment, he was my whole world. No one else was around, I had no idea the photographers were even there capturing it all.Zach was the only person in the world to me during those emotional moments. We held each other for who knows how long and I knew that I would soon make this man my husband for the rest of my life.
Anh and Kareem’s Georgia wedding at Primrose Cottage perfectly balanced sweet Southern details with an elegant sophistication true to the couple’s style. Bri McDaniel Photography brilliantly captured the sweet and sophistication in Anh and Kareem’s personalities as well as their wedding decor, from their first look to their first dance. Whether you’re looking for unique bridal style inspiration or dapper ideas for your groom, Anh and Kareem’s wedding day fashion is one for the books!
Because we both grew up in the south, we both knew we wanted to have an intimate, sweet Southern wedding. We both wanted the wedding to feel casual and the decor them to feel sweet yet sophisticated. The venue was the most perfect ideal location, it had everything we imagined for the wedding.
The Moments:
Our most favorite moment was to see all our friends and family from all around the world partying, toasting cheers and dancing all together. For both sides of our families, it was their very first time meeting. It was a very precious moment for each of us.
The Couple Recommends:
We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer than Bri McDaniel as she really captured our wedding day such with such beauty and honesty. Kareem really doesn’t like to take photos but she made it so much fun and comfortable for both of us.
Our wedding designer, Sara Gagnon was such a lovely person to work with, the decors were just as we imagined and her flower crown design was the highlight of my entire outfit.
