Peach and Green Wedding at Caffino Ristorante

November 1, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Peach-and-Green-Wedding-at-Caffino-Ristorante (4 of 41)

Huge balloons, fresh fruit, and bright florals all came together to produce Olivia and Rob’s fun wedding at Caffino Ristorante in Toronto, Ontario. Designed Dream Wedding Planning created a vintage look with a fresh twist. Offering a unique party favor, the bride and groom gifted their guests with plants which were potted in individualized tea cups. We love how Olive Photography didn’t miss a moment capturing this unbelievably unique wedding!

The Couple:

Olivia and Rob

The Wedding:

Caffino Ristorante, Toronto, Ontario

The Inspiration:

I was going for a more vintage look which inevitably includes a little gold glam, but wanted there to be a really romantic whimsical feel to it as well. Caffino certainly has a vintage yet eclectic feel so both the rentals and my own décor items seemed to fit perfectly with the venue! Then I added lots of florals, some peaches, and succulents in vintage teacups to play up the romance and whimsy. Some other details were a perfect blend of the two styles like the invitations which had gold foiled leaves on blush paper, with a soft font and the cake with gold bands yet soft and playful flowers and all the hand lettering.

The Moments:

Olivia: So hard to choose! But, probably walking down the aisle and taking in the moment. After almost a decade, this day was finally here! Other great moments were watching Keenan (my brother) and Kirsten (now sister in law) perform, finally being able to relax with my bridesmaids the morning of, and getting ready and having fun singing Britney, Backstreet Boys, and Spice Girls. Also, watching everyone enjoying everything including the delicious food, heartfelt speeches, spectacular music, and each others’ company.

Rob: When I saw Olivia walking down the aisle. She looked stunning! The music and everyone standing really made me appreciate the magnitude of what was about to transpire.

The Couple Recommends:

Our advice to couples is to hire a day-of wedding coordinator! No matter how organized you are and how many details you’ve planned in advance, it is beyond helpful having someone else who knows exactly what is going on the entire day and is able to execute everything including your styling/decor and each and every “small” event of the day! There is absolutely no way the day would have been such a success without Fidan and her team! Choose vendors including florists and photographers who’s style is in sync with yours or who you feel has a really good understanding of your vision for the day is. It is also a bonus if they are super approachable and easy to work with- it makes the planning process and day of that much easier and more fun! Thank you Jaimie and Anastasia!

Handmade Kentucky Wedding at Warrenwood Manor

November 1, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Handmade-Kentucky-Wedding-at-Warrenwood-Manor (26 of 33)

All things natural and handmade created a genuinely beautiful aesthetic for Brian and Olivia’s wedding at Warrenwood Manor in Kentucky. The bride wore a classic silk gown by Angela Friedman while the groom fashioned brown leather suspenders. Wild flowers, earthy colors, and tons of blankets came together to produce their wonderful picnic wedding. Cassie Lopez Photography perfectly captured the sweet moments at this DIY wedding!

The Couple:

Brian and Olivia

The Wedding:

Warrenwood Manor, Danville, Kentucky

The Inspiration:

Our relationship had a simple and natural progression so we chose to celebrate the beauty of the simple pleasures found in handmade objects, nature, and fresh foods. We used plants and flowers that we wild-harvested. In terms of fashion, we chose natural fabrics: silk for my wedding gown, linen shirts for the groom and groomsmen and mixed them with items we already owned. My hair was inspired by a photo of my grandmother. Brian and I are both travelers and some of our favorite memories were recalling the romance and nostalgia of picnics. We played up the natural beauty of Warrenwood Manor’s sprawling farm by offering our guests the opportunity to choose where to set up their picnic blanket- hoping they kept in mind their many options of gorgeous views. Our food choices were the sort of things we enjoy eating- poultry, fish, cheeses, salads, and a dessert bar with everything we love or wanted to try from our favorite local baker. Most importantly, we wanted our guests to connect with one another and enjoy themselves in an environment that we tailor-made for them.

The Moments:

Olivia: While I was having my make-up done I could hear my bridesmaids and friends downstairs setting up the garland circle that Brian and I were married in. I had such a touching moment thinking about how so many important people in my life were meeting each other, connecting, and working so hard to create something beautiful to celebrate the love between Brian and I.

Brian: Following the ceremony and photos, Olivia and I returned to the reception about 45 minutes into dinner and were able to see for the first time how well everything was going. All our friends and family as well from different groups and different parts of the country were getting along so well and so clearly enjoying themselves. I could tell Olivia saw that too, and from that point on everything was nothing but fun and about as stress-free as a wedding can get.

The Couple Recommends:

I spent most of the planning time looking for the right people to provide services for our wedding and was so lucky to find such a talented group! Each person added something special to the day with their way of doing things. Patrick Kelley, our caterer, seemed to have a great time cooking and serving up some delicious food and even provided some of his personal collection of serving dishes. Nikki, who created my up-do at Fleet St, confessed she had been studying up on techniques for the look I was trying to achieve. Cassie Lopez, our photographer, went way above and beyond! She created engagement photos of us a few months before during a walk in the woods adventure which were absolutely stunning and allowed us a chance to get to know her before the wedding day. Cassie is not a typical wedding photographer- she didn’t ask us to pose or have a list of shots to get which made working with her very natural and easy. Brittney Adams, the owner of our venue, Warrenwood Manor, was up for anything- helping us to make our ideas come to fruition. She got me through the logistics of the ceremony and setup the day before the wedding- at that point I was so exhausted by all of the details. She worked tirelessly during our wedding day to help us achieve our vision.

Neverland-Inspired Wedding at Cedarwood Weddings

October 31, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Neverland-Inspired-Wedding-at-Cedarwood-Weddings (16 of 39)

The whimsical feel of Spencer and Kara’s Neverland-inspired wedding in Nashville made for gorgeous wedding photos. Event planner Lori Seal created a get-a-way atmosphere filled with magical touches including a floral covered wedding arch and moss-topped, natural décor. Their venue, Cedarwood Weddings, offered a historic estate and secluded space for Spencer and Kara to tie the knot. The Schultzes photographed the magical day perfectly!

The Couple:

Spencer and Kara

The Wedding:

Cedarwood Weddings, Nashville, Tennessee

The Inspiration:

Neverland — specifically Marc Forster’s adaptation in Finding Neverland when they take the play to the Davies’ home and pull the curtain back to reveal a soft paradise bursting with everything flora and fauna. I wanted something that felt that whimsical and perfect — it definitely did.

The Moments:

It’s so hard to differentiate a favorite moment, the whole day was filled with so much happiness from everyone. Still, it had been pouring down the day of and before. It came time for me to make a final decision to keep the ceremony outside in the meadow or under one of the tents. There was definitely family pressure to bring it inside, understandably so, but I looked at my sister and she gave me that you know what you want smile. I chose the meadow. It started really coming down just before the ceremony, but then it just stopped right before. My dad and I laughed as I clung to him trying not to sink too much down the aisle. I loved it, I wouldn’t trade it for a perfect sunny day now. I even love the mud stains on the bottom of my dress.

The Couple Recommends:

Everyone went above and beyond any expectations and wants. Lori and Marissa (the day of coordinator) with Cedarwood are both so amazing, Lori just got me and could bring my most obscure ideas to life. I even gave her drawings and watercolor paintings and Lori was able to interpret them into a living design. And she had a surprise teepee for me when I showed up the day of the wedding! We also loved- and received innumerable complements- on both our DJ Adam and the fantastic Golden Band! Brittany and Dan of The Golden Band also wrote us a custom song they performed with the bluegrass band at cocktail hour. It was funny, sweet, loving- everything that isSpencer and I. They were so great!
