Katarina and Steven fell in love with the Khayangan Estate at first sight. They both agreed that it was everything they wanted for their wedding – quiet, remote, private, and with breathtaking views. They also loved the Japanese architecture, and they wanted their wedding to equally represent both of their preferences. Their wedding planner, Flying Bride, helped define their wedding vision, ultimately incorporating orchids in everything from the invitations to the decorations and wedding favors. Terralogical Photography captured every moment from Katarina and Steven’s graceful and elegant affair, and the couple agrees that their wedding day was dearly intimate and filled with the people they love the most in this world.

My favorite is the orchid lace cape for my reception and the holy matrimony. Yefta Gunawan chose a specific classic lace with a seashell pattern over nude lining and pearl beading which was extremely chic and timeless.

The wedding was dearly intimate and filled with people we love the most; we really treasured sharing this precious moment with the ones closest to our hearts.

We chose Khayangan Estate as the designated venue. We fell in love with it at first sight. It was quiet, remote, and private, plus it had a breathtaking view! The Javanese architecture also made it feel so homey and warm, it was perfect.

Orchids became key visuals of the wedding day as they were especially meaningful to us; thus the flower described by Steven as elegant and masculine can be seen prettily gracing our wedding decoration, invitations, souvenirs, and other wedding essentials. That’s not all; orchids were also incorporated into the dress I wore to the reception.

As we wanted a small wedding with no more than 200 guests and a specific theme in mind, the most important thing for us was to see how all the elements harmoniously came together into a graceful and elegant affair. Steven didn’t want a too sweet pastel and feminine wedding so out wedding stylist decided to incorporate gray into pastel pink and purple, creating dusty versions of the colors.

It’s very important to find the right people. The lovely people who helped us in the planning were also very professional. It was such a smooth planning. They intently listened to all our ideas and selections and finally delivered something that exceeded our expectations. It was not at all stressful; we were excited and super happy.

Haven’t Considered a Courthouse Wedding? This Will Change Your Mind

May 11, 2016 | editorial team

Morgan and Tony’s wishes for a courthouse wedding came true when they said “I do” at the Old Pima County Courthouse in Tucson, Arizona. Besides being architecturally stunning, the iconic building allowed them to have enough space to invite more people while still having the courthouse wedding they always dreamed of. Monica Mae Photography captured every moment from Morgan and Tony’s big day, starting with their private first look before the ceremony. The couple kept their planning as low-key as possible, waiting till a week before the wedding to choose a cake. They ended up with small Tres Leches cakes, decorated with fresh cut roses, for each individual table at the reception.

Aside from the first kiss as husband and wife, which was quickly followed by the realization we’d forgotten to exchange rings, the most memorable part of the day was hearing the speeches made by our closest friends surrounded by our guests. It was this moment of “This is it! This is what it’s all about.” We felt so loved.

As soon as we got engaged, we knew exactly who we’d ask to be our officiant. Carol is warm, wise and knows us so well. It felt so right having her be such a big part of the wedding. We also wanted to do something special with our grandmothers, so we asked them to be our witnesses. It’s so nice to look at our marriage certificate and see their signatures.

We knew immediately we wanted a courthouse wedding. After making a few phone calls, we were able to get permission to be married in the courtyard of the Old Pima County Court House, which is one of the most iconic buildings in our beloved Tucson. Besides being architecturally stunning, it allowed us enough space to invite more people while still having the courthouse wedding we dreamed of.

We were so low key about planning that we decided on our cake 10 days before the wedding! Rather than having a cake with multiple tiers, we had one small cake brought to each table. The cake was from a tiny shop in the Mercado San Augustine called Dolce Pastello – it was a traditional Tres Leches cake that was decorated with fresh cut roses.

Classically Beautiful Tuscany Wedding at Catureglio

May 11, 2016 | editorial team

Classically-Beautiful-Tuscany-Wedding-Catureglio-3

Emma and Jack wanted their Tuscany wedding to stay relaxed, natural, and true to Italian culture. A countryside villa, Catureglio, gave them everything they were looking for – the estate came complete with a chapel and cottages, an entrance courtyard, and a terraced landscape of vines and olives below lush woodland. Emma and Jack decided on an Italian ceremony with an English translator, and they gave each of their guests personalized lavender bags and seeds to take home. Moumou Photography captured some beautiful photos of Emma and Jack venturing through the endless Italian hills.

I fell in love with Stephanie Allin’s Lily dress, so much so I traveled hours each fitting to get it. It was a beautiful lace dress, very romantic and feminine. Jack went with a bespoke navy British designed suit and looked amazing! The groomsmen had navy suits and the bridesmaids wore long dusky pink dresses which again complimented the surroundings.

Venturing through the woodland hills of Tuscany with our amazing photographers was priceless. We remember laughing lots, walking hand in hand in the sunshine, it was perfect few moments alone. We now have have treasured photographs that look truly exceptional but also with great memories behind them.

Our ceremony was very memorable. Not just because of the romance and beautiful moments, but the goofy ones too! Everybody giggled when I got my vows the wrong way around and Jack tried to put my wedding ring on the wrong finger….but this is so us and has helped make the day so heartwarming.

Our hearts belong in Italy, Jack proposed there, we adore the food, wine and the culture. We were naturally drawn to Italy and never considered not being there. We originally had five venues to visit, but we knew which one we wanted before we saw it so we ended up cancelling all visits but Catureglio. I will never forget the feeling when we walked in.

We didn’t want to get too stuck into themes or designated colours, so it was whatever we felt worked. Again it was very complimentary to the surroundings so antique greens, dusky pinks, whites etc.
